What tire size do most people run on 17" wheel? I am currently running 215/40/17, but I am thinking about moving up to 215 45/17 in the spring. Any thoughts on this??

I have 225/45 17 NeoGens. I love the extra rubber, cuz you cant feel every single bump, rock like you can with 40 series. The NeoGens have a rim protector for my LE37T's from getting scratched on the lip. :)

I have 215/45-17 and I feel the car struggles a bit in acceleration and a lot in 5th-6th gear high speed recovery. 160 kph to top speed takes ages now and top speed is not anymore over 200 kph. The wheels are too big. I will go for 205/45-17 in my next set.

less wheel well gap
slightly raised car
lower acceleration
larger sidewall

i find the 215 are not wide enough
