Hey, I was wondering how I can stay in the lift during the 1-2 shift. I have a 6 speed GT-S, Injen CAI i try to shift just before the rev limiter around 8100 rpm's or so but when I hit second gear I drop to about 5900 rmp's and i can't get it to land at 6100, is it my car or not shifting quick enough, the first time I tried to quick shift I missed second gear.

The rev limiter should be a little higher than 8100 rpm. Try reving the engine up a little higher next time before you shift.
Also, I would suggest that you stop doing the "quick shift" thing. If you were shifting so quick that you missed second gear, it sounds like you are shifting too fast and with too much force. I would suggest that you concentrate on making the shift more "fluid" instead of just yanking the shifter down as hard as you can. Just think of the whole depressing the clutch, moving the shifter, and releasing the clutch process as one fluid motion. That's what I do to shift quickly. With a little practice, you will begine to shift pretty quick without any unnecessary strain on your drive train. Good luck! :)

go to the rev limiter (8300rpm) and try your techique, you should hit 6000rpm +. i can hit 6100rpm with a 7900-8100rpm but you have to be pretty quick. it took me some time to get the shift down just right, but now its kinda like second nature.;)
In the 2002, the rev limiter is 7800. Makes things a bit more difficult.
