I was tired to see all the wirings to my amp, so I decided to clean it up and relocated my amps. Tell me what you guys think.

Very clean man. Are you still able to get to the donut? I mean does it lift up or anything like that? Otherwise, very tight.

That is very nice I am wondering how much did the 1/2 F cap help you, I am thinking of getting a 1 F cap but if a 1/2 F is good enough I will save my money and get the smaller one

silvercelly: I guess it sounds alright considering that my box is way too big and i am only running 8 ohms to each subs.
sc0rp1o21: Yes, I did everything myself. Took a lot of patience and time to complete.
buckeye23: I made a fiberglass box that sits inside where the spare tire belongs, so I dont have a spare tire (got 3 flats ever since I replaced my donut with the box)
since I am on the subject of flats, I am offically giving a WARNING TO ALL YOU 00+ CELICA OWNERS. People with stock rims, added body kit, and lowered the car, you guys better watch out when you get a flat in the front. YOUR CAR MAY CRUSH YOUR FRONT KIT!!! There was less than an inch clearance when I had the flat and I haven't even lowered the car. So imagine what WILL happen if I have lowered the car.
2kgtx: My lights did dim when the music hit those deep ass bass at loud volumes, but ever since I had the .5 cap, the dimming problem went away. But I am currently running 8ohms to my subs, so I am not sure what will happen if I use a 2ohms setup (maybe someone else can help out on this one).
Damn this is a long post. o'Well

Just a suggestion: you should not buy a cap based on budget. You should buy a cap based on wattage. If you have 500w RMS or less, then a .5 farad will be fine. If you have more then you need a bigger cap (1 farad = up to 1000 watts).

Thanks for the advice I think I will go and buy a 1 Farad cap or 1 1/2 Farad cap. I am running 1300 Watts RMS between my two amps

I took that plastic piece on the inside of the trunk off to see if I could do anything to prevent the rattle but I don't think it is possible because the rattle is actually coming from the handle mechanism not much you can do to get rid of the rattle, If you find a way please don't hesitate to tell me.

hey i have the same premier subs....i was wondering how many watts you were pushing to each sub?? Also where do you have your crossover set? And you were saying the box was too big? How does that affect the sound? i just have a normal everyday sealed enlosure box for the 2 subs. Do you think this is a good size for the box? and last, do you think there is any difference in where the subs are placed? (i.e. facing back, facing forward, or facing up) Thanks a lot.

I'm just thinking about removing the handle and doing some custom work to make it flush. Cause now it rattles like a mo'fo

Need4Speed, tite install bro!!!! I was planning on doing the same set-up with my 2 12 eclipse alum. My question however is, how much volume did u squeeze out of our spare tire well? Also, how do u like u IDmax man? Ive only heard good things.
~Thanx~

need4speed, do you have the measurments for your setup?

My sub enclosure is actually fiberglass.. each sub is using about 1.2 cubic feet. Sorry I don't know the exact measurements for my setup.
Do I like IDmax's? Have you see one in person? It's got one helluva magnet.. it's a deep, deep sub. It was hard for them to mount it that way in the trunk and as a result the false floor comes up pretty high. Other than that i LOVE my subs.. fantastic sound quality.. they really are as musical as everyone says. But at the same time, they're loud and powerful as **** if you want them to be. I've got them both on one of those SS Rubicon 1002's that you see in the trunk (the blue amp).. they should be getting around 700 watts each.. which is below RMS (which is 1000+). I definitely recommend these subs. They'll rattle your teeth out if ya want them to :D

hey Need4Spd, we do have similar taste. Do you have any dynamat stuff under the box and behind the plastics? Does your baffle board vibrate at high volumes? If so, how did you brace it?
sup rikig, @ max my amp can only do 230 watts each sub. When I first made my fiberglass box, I did measured it by filling it up with water. I forgot how many liters it was but I do remember that it has enough room for 3 10's. I dont know how it will affect the sound quality though.

So you are saying u have ur subs in 2 chambers???? Yes i have seen the idmax in person. The sub has a very deep mounting depth.
