Ok today I was at a friend's house and we were just sitting around..then he said he haven't heard a celica kick into lift and he wanted to hear vvtl-i kicks in. So i started up the car, the temp. gauge was just one click, so car isn't totally warmed up. Then I took the car around the block to warm it up alittle. THen when I was about to kick into lift. the rev limiter came on at about 7500rpm!! no lift nothing, just felt my car lost some power due the rev limiter. Also the temp gauge went up 2 clicks by now.

Then I let my car idle for abit, everything sounds normal... and i went tried again when the car is fully warmed up... then I was able to kick into lift no problem at all. The car pulls great, sounds great.

So does anyone know why the rev limiter kick in at 7500rpm ? was anything wrong? I just replaced the lift bolt like 2 months ago, and ever since I only went into lift for like 20 times at the most.

I think you just answered your own question. Same thing happened when my care wasnt fully warm one time.

there is nothing wrong. the car just wanst warmed up enough. you have to have at least 2 bars to be in lift temperatures. oops i see that i was at 2 bars. well it still wasnt warm enough. you car is just a little tempermental.

Smaay: just to cleared it up, it happen when the temp gauge was at one bar, then went upto 2 once I realized the rev limiter kicked in so early

but what worry me the most is why rev limiter kicked so early tho? I went upto 8100rpm before then it kicked in...

also you think the new lift bolt held up? I sorta paranoid about lift bolt being broken by going into lift now.

The lift bolt is fine (fingers crossed). Your car should never be able to go into lift without being warmed up. Seriously, don't worry about it.

Anyone here have broke the 2nd gen. lift bolt yet? If so, how hard were driving your car? I kinda want to know, as I'm still paranoid about mine being broken already. I hit lift like 3 or 4 times a week. And replaced my bolt about 2 months ago...

Lift is lift. It doesn't matter how hard you drive your car, when lift engages, it causes wear on the bolt. If you change the bolts every 10k, you should be fine.
