Looks like the GTS will be eaten by the GT, bring it on.
Part of the reason I did not go with a GTS, I knew they would not produce the S/C for the GTS because of the higher compression! not to mention the GTS was $6000 CDN more than the GT just to have an extra 30hp (rear wheel) above 7000 RPM and only have it for 1500 RPM. Now I can spend less and have a GT that will have alot more than 30 hp EVERYWHERE, were it is actually usable.
Finally a decision I don't regret, if I would have bought the GTS I would be kicking myself right to the dealer to trade it in.

Now there's an oxymoron.
The GTS has more horsepower (and torque) from 6000 to 8000 rpm, so get your facts straight.
The supercharger will likely cost $6000 Canadian as well.
The supercharger doesn't exist yet.
Oh so "Wyse" you are...

Not to mention the brake upgrade, wheel & tire upgrade (16" standard on GTS in Canada), sunroof, seat material, and other plusses in the GTS (I believe A/C and cruise are also an option on GT, standard on GTS).
So let's recap: Out of the box, the GTS is faster in a straight line, faster and more responsive in the corners (thanks to tires), stops infinitely better (tires + brakes) and is more comfortable. For this, you pay an extra $6000.
With the GT, you get to buy the supercharger later, if you wish. This will, as has been pointed out, probably run you $6000 or more, especially if you have it installed. Once that's in place, you can upgrade the brakes, tires and wheels for some additional thousands of dollars. You end up paying more money, the car is still not as comfortable, though it may be a bit faster in a straight line.
Hmm, it's funny how I, a GT-S owner, am not kicking myself at all. Nor will I be visiting the dealer to trade it in anytime soon. Maybe I'm just not as smart as you are.

Also WyseOne the car is front wheel drive, but you state it has 30 extra horsepower at the rear wheels

The GT has more power than the GTS below 6000 RPM
The GT stops just as good as the GTS, the stopping power is mostly all in the front
The S/C will not be 6000 CDN and it will produce a hell of alot more power than the GTS EVERYWHERE for less than a GTS
FACT: you are all pissed that a GT w/SC will blow away a GTS period.
how is it more confortable?
Tires can be changed for next to nothing, they need to be changed in due time anyways.
Rear wheel, front wheel. Whatever, I am at work and typing this in a hurry.
i think the resale value (% wise) is way higher for a gts than a supercharged gt. you will lose a lot jsut for the fact that you supercharged it. whereas, with the gts, you don't lose as much so it's better bang for the buck
WyseOne

Resale value would be less on the GTS for the simple fact that everyone will want a supercharged GT.
i don't think so
% wise, u'll lose a lot more in value just because of the imperfect information lemon law.
gts is gts. some ppl drive it like a lady, some people redline it everyday.
super charged gt, the buyer will know you **** around with it for sure or else u wouoldn't spend so much to put a super charger in it. you think he'll pay you as high a price knowing for sure you **** around with your car?
which would you pay more for? a car that is the way it was built (gts) or a car that someone modified, and may end up ****ing up the engine or other stuff, and driven it to its death?

WyseOne, please listen to me as a fellow GT owner...
Get your facts straight before you spout off about things you have no knowledge of. These people will eat you alive with your misinformation.
The GTS has 40 hp more than a GT, the torque on a GT is slightly higher below 6000 rpm, thats it.
Everything interior-wise is standard on both cars, including AC and CD yada yada yada...
However, cruise control and Power Windows/Locks are an option.
Resale value on the GT stock, is actually more than a GT-S due to the misshifting problems...
The GT does not stop as fast as the GT-S, do some research... 4 wheel disc are always better than 2 disc 2 drum setups...
Trust me, no one is pissed that a SC GT will beat a GT-S, because the truth is, a Turbo'd GT-S a 6psi will smoke you...
Stop comparing Washington

You gotta be joking, a dealer installed SC will not affect the resale value of the car, the car will depreciate the same as a GTS
So if you kill your GTS engine with an improper downshift and the dealer replaces the engine I guess your resale value drops significantly right?

I would like to say a few things about people who post like this. Let's see, a N/A GTS motor vs a GT supercharged motor. Of course the supercharged one will win. 99% of the time a car with forced induction will beat a car with nothing but normal mods on the engine. Why try and make a post like this just to start trouble? What happens when the Blitz supercharger comes out for the GTS? Whoohoo! A supercharged GTS is faster than a supercharged GT. See what I mean? pointless. Who don't you go to club si and post, hey my turbo si is faster than your non-turbo si. See what they have to say to you there. Can you say big flame job?
Speaking of high compression engines not having super or turbo chargers. The RSX is a high compression motor and they have kits comming out for them. The Matrix will have a supercharger and it uses the same engine as the GTS. There is a turbo kit of the GTS already.
One last thing, FACT: I could give a rats ass if your superchrged GT is faster tham my GTS period. :p

It's as simple as this:
Just let us know when you get one, and stop acting like an ass.

Don't think so, VVT-i is what it has.Get your facts straight before you spout off about things you have no knowledge of. These people will eat you alive with your misinformation.

-30 at the front wheel
Everything interior-wise is standard on both cars, including AC and CD yada yada yada...
-Exactly what I was saying
However, cruise control and Power Windows/Locks are an option.
-Still a hell of alot cheaper than a GTS
Resale value on the GT stock, is actually more than a GT-S due to the misshifting problems...
-Even better
The GT does not stop as fast as the GT-S, do some research... 4 wheel disc are always better than 2 disc 2 drum setups...
-By how much, a C hair?
Trust me, no one is pissed that a SC GT will beat a GT-S, because the truth is, a Turbo'd GT-S a 6psi will smoke you...
-Yeah and it will also be smoking, Toyota reliability would have been compromised.

I'm trying to help you man...
The GT has 140 hp.
a GT-S has 180 hp
You do the math...
If you're accounting for drivetrain loss, it's 15%, not 25%...

Wouldn't it also be compromised on your supercharged GT? I am not aware of any Toyota dealer that installs superchargers and would actually warranty them. Of course I could just be running my mouth about things I have no info about :fawk:
