just wanted to see if anyone wanted to meet up this saturday. me and roxanne are going down to my body shop to look at getting her stuff painted, and possibly up to the toyota dealer where she knows some people in the maintanence dept. i remember that barry needed to get that belt fixed or whatever it was, so if you want, feel free to come along. i also need to get them to check out some of the odd noises my car's been making and hopefully fix my headlight. other than that, we don't have anything planned but will probably wanna try to find something to do. post on here or call me if anyone wants to get together...

I'm not sure If I'll have time to go all the way to Atlanta and back up and all that, but if you come up by the Mall of Georgia I could meet you. That is only about ten minutes from where I live. We could do the Goldspeed go kart racing I told you about. Last time I checked it ws 10 bucks for a race about like the Andretti one. The karts are not as nice, but they are still quick. By the way my friend has not gotten the prices on the springs yet, but he told me today that if anyone wants him to install them(as a certified Toyota Technician) he would do it for $150 or so. I also made a little progress on the hood scoop today. Of the 17 hours I worked today I managed to spend about ten minutes on the scoop. Well if you guys make it up in this area give me a call 770-540-7495. Later

If you are still in the area after five or six I'll try to meet up with you. I have to work for at least a few hours to get some stuff done. What do you all think about the Goldspeed idea?

Stupid forums going down. Sorry couldn't get together, I didn't have your (Cody) cell phone number written down and couldn't check here to get it. Guess I'll have to roll by Atlanta Toyota and get the belt tensioner fixed some other time.
Duncan, did you get any information on the springs over the weekend?

You missed out Scott. We saw a ton of celicas. Even saw a couple of people from NextCelica.net. Some guy in 3 series BMW spunout and smacked into a curb trying to showoff. Pretty fun night.
TRD is coming out with a new supsenion kit. I think he said it would cost like $525. I'm not to sure on the price.

yea, you missed out on some fun scott. hey duncan, did you end up racing the guy in the R? i was curious to see how that would go if it happened. oh yea, i got my rear strut bar installed so i'm happy about that, and just found out that i'm getting $360 back from taxes. so now i gotta buy something.

Cody, how hard was the install for the rear strut bar? Did you mess your plastics up at all?

it wasn't really as hard as i was expecting it to be, but there was lots of little stuff you have to do that just takes time. (it took me about 3 hours). the cutting was the hardest part but my dad helped me out with it and luckily he's real good with using saws. we kept having to cut a little more so it would fit in and one side of the center piece has more space than the other, but we're gonna fix that sometime soon by cutting the same amount of space on the other side. other than that (which isn't really that bad), it wasn't too hard at all. if anyone else gets one i'll be glad to help you out with it now that i kinda know what i'm doing. also, did anyone wanna buy my broken WW wing that i have on right now? i can get you a quote on how much it would be to fix/paint it a new color if you're interested. i'm asking somewhere around $120 for the wing alone, and am just guessing fixing and painting it will probably be around $150-$200(which would put you to a total of around $320 which is about what the wing alone costs). if anyone wants it, let me know...

Sorry I missed on Saturday I ended up working till 8:30 that sucked also one of my head lights burned out I forgot what a pain those things are to replace.
Duncan I think I am interested in the entire suspension what all is included is it a spring/strut thing, My grandmother decided to give all the Grandchildren some money from her house that she just sold so I am going to do suspension and then take this girl that I am seeing shoping and buy all new clothes for myself and probably a little something for her. Let me know when you can get the stuff from your friend also I think I may let your friend install my suspension as well if he is still interested,
Cody What time do you have to leave on Saturday to get to lakewood @ 7:30 I have to leave at like 6:15 I don't remember how long it takes to get their but to be on the safe side,

Hi everyone! I'm glad to see the forum is working again. I stayed up almost all night last night getting the second half of that shift knob mold done, and it went in the autoclave today. As long as it is ok, I'm hoping to have the first shift knob out of it by this weekend. Yeah, I couldn't believe that guy in the BMW. What an idiot! After we left we drove up to Collins Hill and as we expected nobody was there. We did decide to race once before I left to come home. It was probably only an 1/8 mile or so from one end of the parking lot to the other. I was surprised that I had him on the launch, but he ended up pulling on me and getting about a car length ahead. Mark, I'm sure he would do the suspension for you. He was telling me about two different spring compressors he's got and it sounds like his shop is pretty well equiped. He has not called again yet, but he said he would call and get the specs and the price for just springs, or just struts. The kit I'm getting is the TRD Japan springs and struts for $525. It is will retail for $700 or more I think. I'll let you know when he gets the specs. How late does the school run saturday? I am going out with some friends from work saturday and meeting this girl that one of the guys wifes wants to hook me up with that evening. I was thinking maybe we could all meet up later on. This will be the first weekend I've had off in several weeks so I won't have to worry about staying out too late.

Not sure how late it will be but you can give me a call on my cell (404)374-5962, and thanks for getting the hook up with TRD I can't wait to get the springs and sturts now and 525 seems to be one hell of a price from what I have seen,

thats cool that you took him at first duncan, just wait til you gt's have the WC turbo's on. the shift knob sounds good too, looking foward to seeing how the final ones come out. i'm not sure how late the school lasts but with it starting at 8:00 i don't think it's gonna be real late. i'm cool with meeting up again and doing something. i also think there's some kind of solo 2 stuff sunday at turner field that's kind of a tuning day, i'll try to find out more at the school if anyone's interested. also, can you remind your guy to check the prices on the TRD clutch, LSD, and Tom's flywheel? thanks...

Mark, yeah I'm anxious to get my car changed over to the lower stiffer springs and strutrs. I parked next to Nick's Type R today at work and it made my car look like a rally car. Cody, I just wrote myself a note to remind him to check the prices on your stuff and get the specs for the other stuff. I would be interested in going to Turner field if that is going on Sunday. I told Nick I would help him change the clutch in a Tacoma somtime this weekend. If its done by then maybe he will come down too and I'm sure he'd give you a shot at the R.;)

Hi guys. Wish you all had been there this weekend. This girl named Briana (?) wants to join the club. Another girl! Whoohoo!
Any way, I wanna get together again this weekend. I had fun. BTW I have a shiftlight I might be selling for anyone who is interested. I bought it for myself and am now finding myself wanting the little bitty one Cody told me about. Mine is just like Cody's except there is a dial instead of pills to set the RPMs at. I just got it on Monday. Let me know. Duncan, do you have a CAI? There is a used INGEN CAI for a GT on ebay right now. It's in good condition and you might get a good deal on it. Just lettin ya know. I wanna trade my short ram for one but am still waiting for the word on what ROAR inc. is cookin up. Anyway, lets get together this weekend.... :wiggle:

It WILL be fixed. What did they tell you anyway? Feel free to call and inquire. They have other appointments I'm sure but if they don't get moving on it we will have to inform them that we are calling Toyota customer service and complaining. 'again' It won't look good and I'm sure it won't come to that. Any way, who ever wants to get together can meet at my house again. Or whatever....

HAH HAH!! In card board boxes!? Whatever for? Is is some form of conditioning....or maybe a lesson on being thankful for what you have... hmm I'm sorry I never experienced anything like that before. I know Cody and I are gonna try and see his bodyshop guy again on Fri. since we both have it off. We will have figured something out by then I hope.

Thats cool Barry. I will probably wait another week or two to order mine. All he has to do is call and order them and pay for them when they come in. I would like to give him the money up front if possible just so he doesn't have to worry about anybody not coming through. It turns out the shipping won't cost anything since he is ordering it through Atlanta Toyota so I guess it doesn't even really matter if we order them at the same time. No I don't have a CAI yet Rox but I will check that out. Thanks! That is the one I was planning on getting. I'll just have to see if I can afford to get it and the suspension stuff all at the same time. I will have to play it by ear, but I would like to meet up with you all saturday night or Sunday. Nick took me for a ride in the type R tonight after work. That thing is bad ass! It feels like a race car. Because of the LSD it shifts really violently, but damn its fast. He said he would let me know when he gets all the info on the LSD, flywheel, and clutch. It sounds like maybe you should talk to him about what you want Cody.

02-12-2002, 05:35 PM
Yeah and maybe Cody will race him too!! ;) jk I am excited about seeing everyone again this weekend. You think we should go out like we did last Saturday? I mean without all the wandering around this time. I wish I had my wheels. Man this waiting **** sucks....Oh yeah, Jeremiah bought a spring compressor brand new so you guys can use ours. He is on a groupbuy for some coilovers. The "suspension bug" seems to have bitten everybody.:chuckles: I hope you can get that CAI duncan. It would be a satisfying and very noticable improvement I'm sure. Oh well, all its takes is money....I would like a lamborgini door conversion... :D

(and yea, i'm still eventually gonna buy your wheels barry).

Hopefully we can all meet up on Saturday after the school sucks that you can't make it Duncan, Im sure Cody and I will tell you how much fun it was (hehe) Duncan let me know when you want my money for the suspension, I have no problem fronting the money,

Damn, I don't think I can squeak that much money at a time without my girlfriend kickin' my ass. Whats the price for just the springs and what benefits would the struts added help?
Anyone know a website that will sell the Honda antenna? I'm having Honda dealerships telling me it will be 32ish, thought it was 20-24? Oh well.
I'll try to make it to this meet, my girlfriend finally has a month where she has weekends off so I'm not sure if we'll have plans since we normally don't get many days to spend together.
