you didn't report your accident and they take your license away? why would they do that? if you hit THEM then it would be another story...this is very strange. yes fight it. call them up and see what you can do. but this doesn't sound right....

There has to be more to the situation than this... how many points do you have? How many tickets have you gotten?

They can't nor would they suspend your license for not reporting an accident.

Besides, the DMV can't suspend it anyway, the law has to suspend it, either by Judge or by Driving record default....

you might want to go to your local courthouse and see if you have any outstanding failure to appears or something like that... i had a fta on a seatbelt ticket that i never showed for, totally forgot about it and they were getting ready to suspend my licence for a year! for a goddamn $35 ticket! needless to say i paid that mofo (plus a $250 fine..... grrrr >:( ) id check if theres any places youve ever got in trouble/tickets.

do you have insurance? if you dont I know in VA is illegal to drive a vehicle with no insurance.....c'mon,
1. it wasnt your fault....
2. u didnt report it (that was YOUR decision)
3. WTF does dmv care if you car is phucked up or not....

there has to be more to this.....not saying you're lying, but they have to have a reason to take your DL away.

In California, you _MUST_ report any accident that results in $500 worth of damage or any bodily injury. Other states may be similar.

You can claim that you didn't know you had to file a report and they may let it go, unless they already sent you a notice saying you had to file.
