You shouldn't have any problems with your hood. Just make shure you don't buy a cheap one. You do get what you pay for.

the only possible thing the elements can do to a cf hood is the sun can fade it and turn it to a golden brown... I had my cf hood cleared with some uv resistant stuff...

if you get a cf hood invest on getting it clear coated with automotive clear coat. itll save you the trouble later on from sun burns. trust me...i learned my lesson.

thats exactly what it is..its just UV coating. itll fade or get sun burn in due time. the automotive clear coat will make it more resistant to weather issues. im not sure about VIS hoods i know fiber images just recently came out with that option of having an automotive clear coat as an option.

well ive had my hood for a good 2 years. i know for a fact when i asked them if it had automotive clear coating they said no but itll be an option later on. they were just using UV clear coat. as for the cost. it really all depends on the body shop and the kind of clear coat they use. a good one theyll probably charge you close to 250. im sure itll be alot cheaper for other shops and materials they use. shop around cuzz thats what im doing.

I got a quote of $200 to reclear my VIS Grade AA hood and a quote of $75 to do the hoodscoop in a silver transparent paint so about $275 to do the entire thing the way I want it!
