View Full Version : brake fluid/pad questions...
3 questions...
If any of you have bled your brakes, how much fluid does the GTS brake system hold?
where is a cheap place to buy Motul fluid?
finally, who makes a semi-race (agressive street) pad?
the car is a daily driver, but will see road course time 3-4 times a month.
thanks...

1) Don't know, it shouldn't be ther much, take the reservoir and double that volume for the lines and it will be over kill.
2) No such thing as cheap Motul fluid, buy it most anywhere that sells it, get case discounts if you plan on using a lot...
3) Porterfield would be my choice. R4S. Buy direct from them. Alternatively, call Carbotech and order up a set of Panther+ pads, they come highly recommended.

I use valvoline synthethic as an alternative to motul for several reasons... It's 5$ for a quart, sold at all the chain shops, and has a boiling point above 500F. In comparison, the OEM brake fluid you can get at toyota, boils at 300F.

thought about that, too, and that's probably a better idea... that way, i won't have to order a bunch at once.
how many bottles fill the stock braking system?

1 quart is more than enough to do a complete flush. When you bleed the brakes just devide equally into four the amount of fluid you will use on each corner. also, bleed them diagonaly.. ie- do the right/front and left rear first then do the left/front and right rear next. this will allow a much throurough flush.
