Anyone know how?

I figure the adding of bodykits is simply just lining up pics, and smoothing things out...

But, the headlights really has me stumped, and I cannot find a tutorial on it so, any help is appreciated...

Hmm, never tried it (till now :) ).

I just used that blurry looking paint brush set to Lighten and adjusted the opacity. I used white for the headlights and parking light and yellow then white for the fogs. Tell me if this looks right.

Nice try but, nope... there is some way to do it with filters and such but, I don't know how to use filters....

Yeah, how'd you do that?

Go to Filters > Render > Lens Flare. Then just pick what type you want (3 different ones), the percentage you want applied, and where you want to put it on the pic. The only bad part about it is you really can't see very well where the flare will end up since you only get a little box view of the whole pic. Takes a little trial and error to get it right.

How about the bodykits thing?

How do you draw stuff in PS?

I wanna know how in the hell Bo does this stuff? The lighting, the shading....what is all that, freehand????

I tried adding something to my car the other day on PS, and to get the lighting and all....I haven't the foggiest idea.

Any insight BB?

I just cut the part off of a car in a different pic, paste it into the pic with the car that needs the kit, go to Edit > Transform, and use the tools there to make the part fit. Then I mess around with Hue/Saturation and Levels (sometimes as Adjustment Layers) to get the right color. Sometimes it may need shadows or highlights, so I use the paintbrush with Lighten and Darken. Once you figure it out, it only takes a few minutes to slap on a new bodykit.

You really can't "draw" much in Photoshop. Nothing realistic, anyway. The best you can do is make circles/ellipses, boxes, polygons, and lines. If you're going to work with shapes, you're better off using Adobe Illustrator. It's much more powerful.

Any insight BB? With his kit, he might have taken some parts from other cars to get the more intricate parts (creases, edges, vents, etc.). I think he got the view of the engine bay through the hood vents by taking two pics, one of the car with the hood open and one closed, and just cutting holes in the hood pic and putting the mesh over the top.

Then he blended them in with the Smudge Tool, one of the most useful tools for photochopping. You can drag colors around with it, and smooth out distortions and jagged edges. The rear shot and the sideskirts and spoiler on the silver car show the most evidence of smudging.

Next, he probably just used the Paintbrush with Lighten and Darken like I said above. Other stuff like calipers, intercoolers, lights, mirrors, and grills were directly cut and pasted from other cars with their levels and colors adjusted.

The purple outlined car was most likely done in Adobe Illustrator. It could've been done in Photoshop, but it would've definitely been easier to do in AI. And the outline of the hood looks like a scanned sketch.

It all comes down to finding parts on other cars that are from the same viewpoint as the original pic, and of a color that can be adjusted enough (white is very hard to work with).

Wow....impressive stuff BB. Thanks for the tips. I just putz around with PS for my website and just for the fun of it. I went and bought the classroom in a book for PS, but it just doesn't show you how to do things like this.

another way to make the headlight look on is to select the light, and go to Image-->adjust-->invert. It should give the light a much brighter look. If you see Kierceli's sig, I did it there.
