Can someone please explain what pullies in the car do what and how they work in conjunction. I especially would like to know about the AC and what if nything does it hook up with. Thanks

I hate it when no one answers the q's in the newbie section. I'm no expert, but I'll try.

Pullies are turned by a belt to power the accessory units in your car such as A/C and power steering(different belts, I believe).
AEM Power Pully is larger and lighter than the the stock one, so it takes less power to turn it(less rotational inertia) and it can turn it slower(larger size) to power all your ****. Just that pully alone will free up a little power, but replacing your other pullies like the crank pully will prolly free up more.

From what I've read, you'll only get around 3-5 hp for changing out your pulleys. But, 3-5 hp here & there adds up. L8r

If you but the Unorthodox racing pulleys set it will give you 10 hp at the wheels. Which is quite a difference. I know cuz I dynoed them. If you have a gt auto (bad to start with) I would try to get the most extra power out of it as possible.

The Crank Pulley is where you'll see the largest gains. Although I'm still waiting for mine to arrive, the unorthodox crank pulley will give ~10 hp gain at the wheels. Of course this is on the GT-S and it is the number advertised by unorthodox. Guess I'll believe it after I do a dyno run.

I want the unorthodox pulley set...

but isnt it 300+ dollas?

and to have them all installed, probably another 100

and I dont want trippy stuff happening to my a/c, stereo, and electronics...

but still, 10 hp to the wheels, thats a big improvement for our lightweight cars
