mass insurance is regulated by state. you'll get the same rate (theoreticaly) no matter the company. price depends on your record, car & what discounts (http://www.state.ma.us/doi/consumer/waystosave%5Fdiscounts.html) apply to you.

damn and i thought my rate was high. i have to pay $3100/year with a $500 deductible. what step are you at Tung? im a 26 and its going down!!! im a good driver now ;)

do you have discounts through your work? at my work we have a 5% discount through liberty mutual. it gets deducted right out of my paycheck every 2 weeks. i hate LM, but it saves me the time of having to worry about sending a check each month and i never even notice the money is gone because i never see it anyways

hey tung,
i called Metlife insurance today. from my understanding, at age 20 with step 17 and a comprehensive coverage for that vehicle you are going to pay nearly $4000.

i imagine rite now your coverage is 100/300. it means in case of injury they pay max $100,000 per person, $300,000 per accident.

if you change to 20/40, it'll drop your insurance even more.

from my conversation today, a mr.tung of waltham, ma @ age 20 with step 17, using 20/40 coverage and $1000 deductible, your comprehensive insurance for a 2003 celica gts would be (with metlife auto), $3037. the same coverage with $500 deductible would be $3857. this includes a %25 discount for air bags. i'm not sure if you have an alarm, but that could be worth up to another 35%.

don't quote those rates because i was just pretending to be you. for a more accurate quote you'd need to call yourself.

metlife also offers interpreters if you're not comfortable with english.

however my first suggestion is to contact your insruance agent/company and verify your coverage. change it to 20/40 if possible. make sure you are getting proper discounts.
