I went to put together and price a new 2002 Celica on the Toyota USA website. The action package no longer appears as an available option.

Well that sucks. Oh well, no excuse to buy a heavy celica. But still, it looked damn sweet. That was an awfully short run of that option. They have some fixin' to do with the sales and marketing of the Celica for the aftermarket/racing crowd.

There's always the WWest kit. If you want the mechanical front bumper like the TRD one, you can order a fiberglass knock off version from various suppliers such as revtec.com.

I believe he was talking about the action package as a new car option. It seems odd since I tried it for my zip code and the option is still there.

Uh oh...I need to talk to David Draper soon about getting that wing. And thanks in advance for the suggestion that I buy a knockoff :D

But from a marketing standpoint, wouldn't that make sense. I would guess most auto GT buyers were more concerned with the car's look than performance.

Actually, I think it would be more popular on a GT because adding the Action Package to a GT-S would make the car very expensive. I don't think many people would walk into a dealership and buy a $26,000 Celica (or more depending on dealer markup).
I remember going into the Acura dealership by my house back in '98 and they had a white ITR that the sticker said $23,500 and the dealer had a sticker trying to sell it for $29,500. After talking with the guy, he said he would give it to me for the sticker price. I don't think many people would bother asking after seeing inflated dealer stickers.
you might be able to get it at the carsdirect.com site
its still available for Colorado
