im having my 50 shot of nitrous installed tomorro night.Ive been looking foward fo some time to a good little jump in power.before i hit the rd i do have a few questions.
1. Will the stock clutch hold to a 50 shot?
2. Do i need the purge kit soon becouse i do not have one now
3. could any one please give me some suggestions on SAFE running of nitrous.any tips would be appreciated. When would be a good rpm to shift .my rev lim is 7800 and i dont wanna run the car lean by bounsing the rev lim.

What did you get with the nitrous kit itself? Did you just get the kit by itself? If so, you should shift earlier at like 7.5k rpms because you don't want to hit the limiter. I recommend not running it until you can buy a Mallory Window Switch ($119.99), becaues it can save you an engine. I would also recommend a bottle warmer and purge, don't really need anything else, but it's good to have everything the Genx2 upgrade offers, if you have the bank.
You can try spraying on the freeway on lets say 4th gear above like 4k rpms, and then cut off, if you really want to feel what it's like until you get a window switch.

Better be careful with your bottle warmers. Saw a picture once of a guy who left his bottle warmer on too long or set it too high or something: whole car blown to ****! Good portion of the garage destroyed too. not trying to scare...just BE CAREFUL!

The picture you are probably referring to is from an idiot. The guy had the blow off valve (safety valve) removed, had the bottle overfilled, and left the heater on all night. The blow off valve will vent at 2000 psi and the bottle is rated at 3000psi. He was well above 3000psi to do all that damage.

Yes, you still need a mallory switch so that you don't spray nitrous at fuel cut off, leaving with you just nitrous going into the cylinders.
Get it, its well worth it.

Judging by the questions that some of you are posting, it's very clear that you SHOULD NOT be running nitrous at all... you all need to read up on the subject and talk to someone about it in detail who's run it before...
Try reading the Nitrous 101 post as well...
"do I still need a mallory switch if I have the TPS switch???"
Asking that illustrates your ignorance... these two switches have TOTALLY different functions...

thanks for the flame.....
the reason we are asking these questions here is so that indeed when we get the kits installed we know everything needed to know.
Not everyone needs a TPS switch and there's not a lot about that mentioned nor a mallory switch for that matter.
the nitrous 101 talks about how nitrous works which is not exactly hard to understand.
It's much harder to find out how to set it up safely since the documentation completely sucks. And there is no mentioning last time I checked about window or tps switches.
That is the reason we have a board like this to help each other do it right and learn from each others mistakes not to flame
I have done quite a bit of research on nitrous and have spoken to people that have it or had it and several of them did not know what a a lot of components are. I asked the NHRA tech at the track last night about the components I need to be allowed to run at the track and he had never heard of a tps swicth or a window sitch but knew quite a bit about n2o. Also you don't need to be an electrician or a mechanic to be a good driver...yes it helps but it's not a must.
I for once will get my kit installed from someone with experience but I still want to learn.
so unleass you have something constructive to say I suggest you keep it to yourself.

His questions were perfectly legitimate. If you don't want to answer them, then just ignore them. And plus, he cannot read alot about the TPS switch, simply because almost nobody on NC.org has one due to the fact that we didn't need them because he could use normal WOT switches.

another reason I asked this "outrageous" question was that I was only aware of the lower rpm limitations of 2000 rpm and since the tps switch won't turn on the n2o feed unless you're at wot you could never trigger the spray at 2000 rpm hence the thought that you would not need an additional window switch...
since then I have learned that there is an upper limit as well in case you have a limiter which is 200 rpm before the limiter hits...
so even in retrospect I don't think my question was that stupid.

I am also going to install my NX kit very soon, and Im also looking for safety tips on running with a 50 shot, and additional equipment to install with the kit. Also, pros and cons on having the system activated on button vs throttle.
