How hard is it to make custom enclusures for the trunk in our cars? Easier with wood (what kind)? Fiberglass? other?

any advice and insight to this would be greatly appreciated.

If you have never worked with fiberglass before, you don't want this to be your first project! A sealed enclosure constructed from wood would be a good beginner project. Make sure the enclosure conforms to the manufacture's specifications. MDF (Medium Density Fiberboard) is the wood of choice. Can be found in any Home Depot.

If you want more info on this, check your local radio shack, I think they still sell a set of decent books on enclosure construction theory. Or do an amazon search for The Loudspeaker Design CookBook"

Damn dude, I just did my install and if you were a day or 2 earlier I would of copied the measurements for a 2 12" box that goes in the spare tire well.

Be more specific in what you mean by " custom " and i may be able to help

If you go to celica.net they have a link on how to make a box w/ a volume of 1.3 cu ft. Just do a search. I tried it and it was my first time and it came out great. You just need to be good at carpentry. Wood is the way to go for beginners
