Well, I designed this little setup to make it so that if my car is in gear, it will not be able to start via remote start, and if it's neutral, it connects the clutch wires together (simulating pressing the clutch)

I haven't hooked up the stuff at the shifter yet, but I may do that tonight.

what you guys think?

in case anyone cares, it works. I tested it by connecting the ground to the - when in gear wire, and the car didn't crank while trying to use remote start. besides that, the remote start works wonderful!

Doen't the Clutch actually have to be pressed for the engine to crank, or is it possible to override that Obviously you did it but I am curious as to how?

if you look under your dash, by your clutch pedals, you will see to wires going to it, just connect those two, and it triggers the clutch switch hence clutch wire 1 and 2 in the diagram

another way that the clifford does it actually is by making the driver engage manual start mode... you press a button on the remote while its in the ignition and then take out the key, open the door and leave, the car stays on just as if the key was in it. Then when you arm the whole thing shuts down and arms. That way you can never have someone put you in gear cause its automatically armed. and if you press any buttons in between to open the doors or anything then it automatically goes to non start mode.

yeah.... i know about that gts laid, but ****.. i don't want to have to remember to do that everytime i get out of my car if i think i might want to start it from a distance the next time i get in... so i thought of this relay mechanism... and woohoo! it works
