i was just wondering...what does the vvt-i engine actually do......i know the VVTL-i has the "lift" and all that ****, but what does having VVT-i do for me?

Is VVT-I anywhere as good VTEC? does VVT-I kick in like VTEC kicks in on Honda cars?

please explain to me...i am confused

is there such thing is saying "my VVT-I kicked in"?

thanks

VVTI is always working. It helps get the most power from idle to redline by changing the timing or something like that. It helps low rpm torque and high rpm horsepower.

"Therefore it is undoubtedly the best VVT today. However, it is also more complex and probably more expensive to build."

Well, until Toyota ships a 120+HP/l powered car to the US, Honda and/or VTEC rules that department. The VVTL-i technology is capable, but will it ever happen... (hopefully the 8th gen Celica, mmmm)
