two separate crashes resulting in fatalities, both couldve been avoided if the drivers saved it for the tracks...
saturday's accident killed a guy in salt lake. the gf of the victim, who was riding with him at the time said he was trying to drift. and it was really wet too, dont know what he was thinking.
sunday's accident by comp usa hit home to some of the members here. my condolences to delo's bud(s). and i think eddie might know the other guy andrew cuz i heard through the grape vine he was with or close with racesauce. usually id be all over the incidents tracking down people to speak out on camera or give pictures and stuff, but i didnt really want to bug you guys at a time like this. i hope lessons are learned from this.
be safe.

the accident involving the white focus on Ala Napunani Street in Salt Lake happened a few houses down from my friend's house. He called me up this morning to tell me about it.
From the long skid marks on the road way up the street it looked like the driver lost control of the car at a high rate of speed, and spun the car backwards into a light pole that tore the driver's side of the car to pieces.
He heard the screeching tires and huge crash at about 1 in the morning and ran outside to see what had happened. He heard a girl screaming from the car. He said the the car was demolished and debris was spread out over a huge area. The impact with the light pole had spun the car back facing the right way into traffic again after tearing the driver's side of the car to pieces. He had thought it was a white neon with altezza tails, but according to the article it was a Focus. Someone called the cops right away, and the driver was taken away alive... apparently he passed away on the way to the hospital.
The ground was very wet too.
I already checked focaljet.com after finding out that it was indeed a Focus, and since my friend said it had an exhaust and altezza tails I thought it might be a member there. Apparently it was a member there by the SN 'nyteski'. What a tragedy. :(
I hope I never have to read or hear about something happening like this to a member of this board. Keep it safe ppl.

I'm still very shocked and traumatized by this tragedy. I have NEVER lost a friend, PERIOD, so i'm not exactly sure how to deal with this. I've never seen death so upclose and personal, it really did hit home for me.
Ryan Kono, the driver of the Honda in the accident by CompUSA, was my boy back in high school. There were 5 of us boys who were really close, but drifted apart over the years. I was realy close with him out of the other 4 boys, and we hung out a lot and became great friends. He would always make me laugh no matter what we were doing and always looked out for me.
I distinctly remember going to their junior prom @ McKinley with some of my friends from Moanalua, when Ryan and the rest of us performed a dance for them. We had the greatest time of our lives. We never heard so many people scream and shout for us, we all thought we were celebrities. Then that night after a party, I was too sleepy to drive so my friend drove my car and I remember him telling my friend, "take care of Delo okay, he's my boy. This is my boy right here."
And just last nite, just an hour or two before his death, he had told me the same thing. Just before he left, he told me and my friends to "take care and drive home safe." And that's exactly the kind of guy that he is. He always takes care of his friends and looks out for them.
It's so weird because I hardly see any of them anymore, but last nite it was like a reunion, with the exception of one of us. And it was just last nite too that we reminisced about our memories at the McKinley junior prom. He was acting all goofy and tried to do the dance.
I'm really gonna miss this guy. We've had a lot of memories together and I'm really sad that we won't be sharing anymore together. Please pray for the family and friends of Ryan Kono and Andy Ngam(sp?).

i know i dont post here alot but
just like delo, ryan was a good friend of mines. we were childhood friends, all the way from elementary, into intermediate, highschool, and and so on. he was a great guy, always watching out for his friends, and being able to lighten up a bad situation. we've shared so much memories together, and got closer in highschool. and yea delo, i remeber that dance (nsync) hehe. sure we had our differences but none the less he was one of my closes friends, we were able to remain friends throughout everything. im really gonna miss ryan, he was the guy that could always bring a smile to your face. lets pray for ryans family and friends, and may he rest in peace.

I'm really sorry to hear about this you guys. My condolences out to ya. I've never lost a close friend (I'm thankful for this every day) and I dunno what I'd do if I did. My three best friends are like blood to me; we've been tight since we were young kids.

I knew andrew ngan, it was his accord that ryan was driving. I'm really gonna miss that guy. I'll miss them both. I didn't know ryan too well, he came to a one of my warehouse parties and that's how I got to meet him. Andrew was a Racesauce family member. He's actually the head guy's cousin and I had some good memories with him at hotel parties. I went to the crash site today and saw so many people that I knew and lost touch with. There was about 50 people there and that was at about 10 at night. He had a lot of plans for his car too. We'd stay up and talk about our car and how fast it would be when he got his h22 and I got my turbo, but that seem so far away now. What really got me bad was when I was there the family came by and actually left his fav. dinner from zippy and his fav. canned juice and left it there for him. I almost couldn't hold my tears back.
Before this year I really didn't have to face death. I never knew anyone that died that was even remotely close to me. In the past year 5 of my friends have passed away, two close friends, one aquiantince, a classmate, and a friend from long ago. Each time I thought it wouldn't be as hard the next time but it only gets harder. It scares me cuz I know so many people and almost all of them are close to me and each time someone passes away it seems to be someone closer and closer.

Sorry to hear about your loss guys. I lost a friend to road racing when I was 16. Worst part about it was I was the one that was racing him when it happened. We both crashed, but he didnt survive. I never really did get over it, and I still blame myself for it.
It really makes you think when somthing like this hits this close to home.... anyways, I'll keep you all in my prayers.

I dont know how to reflect on this. Did these kids deserve to die? A definite NO! But did they deserve the consequences...YES! It's sad that it turned fatal. My condolences and prayers to those who knew and loved them.
I grad from McKinley in 95, I knew a Kevin Kono...by any chance is Ryan Kono his brother?

A couple of gate guards on base kept asking me if I knew anything about this accident yesterday I guess since I'm always out riding but never heard anything or seen anything.
It really sucks about what happened though. Gob bless the family and friends that have been left behind. I know I don't know you guys that well but if anyone needs anything just hit me up.
