Unfortunately, I had to take $1,250 out of my engine mod fund to get some quality rims w/ tires. I got TRD T3's, which are made by Volk Racing. They're forged, and are very lightweight.
I weighed (on a home scale) both my stock 16's with the 205/50/16 tires and the 17" T3's with 215/45/17 tires. The stocks weigh 39lbs, while the T3's were 5lbs lighter at 34lbs. Not too bad. My car lost 20 lbs of unsprung weight.
However, the rolling diameter increased slightly. I'll probably go with 40 series tires to decrease diameter when the present tires wear out. The only thing that I'm not too sure about is their color. They're a nice shade of bronze, but I can see myself getting tired of that color and wanting to go back to silver.
