Well, at least they got Bryan and I right!

Aaron ought to be highly competitive in GS with the MR2 Spyder! On a good day he might even be able to beat Carpenter.

The DS crowd isn't as frightening as I thought it would be, even once you get the IS300 into the right class. Just a bunch-o WRX's to pee on.

Donna (Driver) oughta kick some GSL butt driving our Miata (??? where did they get that from...) but I don't know how it's gonna get there.
IS 300 is to be feared in DS!

Donna's probably listed in the Miata for the same reason Aaron's listed in GS and I fought for over a year to make sure I was always listed in FS (as opposed to FSL) -- once you've competed in a National event, you're kind of "entered in the database" in that car and class. So, when I register for the Petersburg ProSolo for STX in a WRX, I already know I'm going to have to call and get the entry corrected. ;)

It's one of those quirks that you get used to after competing Nationally for a while.

I called Mon., and they said the timing and scoring program crashed and they are scrambling to fix it. They said the first event(s) "will be interesting".
They have Donna in the right class, but wrong car, yet my entry is correct... ???
So we don't really have any idea how much of it is right, and we leave tomorrow.

I still say Aaron ought to run GS with the Spyder...

I'm looking forward to running GS... ha ha! As for Donna, I hope she drives well, 'cause Rick's wife is a very good driver, and has a lot of experience. Either way, it should be fun. I'm not sure if I should worry about calling and changing my class, or waiting until I get down there. Looking forward to some sun. - Aaron

Aaron, are you talking about Carol Cone? That's not Rick's wife.... that's his mom!! He's not from West Virginia, you know! :)

Mom? Here I am assuming she was his wife. Very cool to have mom running autocross too! Rick, my apologies, I just assumed from the name. - Aaron

No, I'm not from West Virginia or Mississippi or Alabama.

Yes it's my mom, and I expect her to kick some but this weekend especially since she was only a few tenths out of 2nd at Nationals....

Ohh, and where is that Buckly guy, he owes me $20.00

Hey Rick,
I don't remember betting you directly on the Peru results, but I'll gladly give you $20 when I'm down there for the tour if you thought that was the case. Jean Kinser Dana posted on Evolution that you finished just behind Carpenter in the Pro. Can you confirm some results? - Aaron

We'll have to get Mark Hirt on the line, as he actually remembers more about it then me.....

I do remember the bet though.

Mark? Fill in some details....

As for Jean's results..... lets just say, the Honda DIDNT Win!

As I remember it... Aaron and Rick had the original GT vs GT-S bet. Bryan and I also made the same bet, Bryan paid me in Grid on Sunday.

To make up for the loss (by saving money on "new" class letters) Bryan had to trade his GT-S for a GT :chuckles:

From what I recall, I made a bet with Rick, and I did eventually drop $20 in the mail for him. I think it might have been cash, so who knows if it ever got there...

The original bet was actually with Scott. I was just involved because I ran well at the Petersburg Pro. Then went to Ayer, and got lucky that it rained the second day, for Rob Foley was starting to give me a beat down. Scott put $20 in an envelope and sent it to Rick, so I thought it was settled. - Aaron

I'm just old, plus have a case of "no racing since October syndrome" Well except for Nascar Silicon Motor speedway that is.

Waaaaiiiiiit, how did I get dragged into this.....

I ass-ume it has something to do with the old which is faster a GT or a GTS argument/discussion/debate?

BTW, it didn't just rain at Ayer last year on Sunday, it was more like an atmospheric ocean. I've gotten wet at autocrosses in bad weather before, but never ever have I gotten soaked to the skin, on all body parts, even when wearing a rain suit! There was still running water across the course when I ran the following heat in only steady rain, after the deluge.

Rob's right. I've never seen rain like that. There were spots on course that were over 6 inches deep in water, and that wasn't due to problems with the surface. I'm guessing we got about 3-4 inches of rain in about a 2 hour period, then it tapered off. The most entertaining part of the day was working the heat in which Faulkner nearly took out the course workers doing 50+ mph sideways into the grass driving that Z06.

Rob, did you get my reply note back from that PM I sent you?
