We all have been problems with the belt tensioner going bad even when replace go bad once a year.

I got mine replaced but it maybe the wrong part.

on the service sheet:
it reads
"
cause: worn belt tensioner and belt
EG8001 corolla v-belt tensioner

the parts replaced were

16620-22031 tensioner Assy, v-ri
90916-02310 Belt, V-ribbed
"

can someone check and see if maybe they put a corolla belt on my car? why does it say corolla.

The engines are the same, so I would assume everything is attached to the engine in the same way as well (AC, alternator).

Jaysong-

Do you drive a GT or GTS?

That is not the right part number fo rhte GTS belt.

According to teh TSB the number "02310" is the old GTS part number and the "02540" is the new GTS part number.

The new belt has been out for over a year, so no one has any business selling you the old one.

"22031" is the proper tensioner assembly.
