Okay! So here's the deal! I spoke with JoAnn in the customer satisfaction department. I told her that I was calling on behalf of about 1500 other celica owners who are dissapointed with the quality of their paint compared to previous model celicas/toyotas in general. She gave me an 800 number for everyone to call. They will document everyone's information and issue you a case #. After enough of us call in, it will then be submitted and those of us who called in will receive letters in the mail stating a toyota sited issue on the paint and action will then be decided. SO EVERYONE PLEASE DON'T LET ME DOWN. I really told her I had about 1500 owners out there who would call in. If you want your paint to be taken care of and not get worse than it is PLEASE contact them because if action is taken only those who called and received the letters will be eligible. My hood especially is starting to look like **** and I hardly ever travel the highway. The # is :
1-800-331-4331.
6am to 6pm Pacific Time

PLEASE CALL!!! IF IT LOOKS THIS BAD NOW, THINK ABOUT A FEW YEARS FROM NOW, AND I KNOW A LOT OF US CANNOT AFFORD A NEW PAINT JOB

Can you guys make this a sticky(ttt)?

Just got off the phone and she said that every car from 99 forward has thinner and weaker paint that previous because the government has decreased the amount of lead they are allowed to use in the paint. She can't really do anything but she told me to go have it checked out at a dealership to see because the paint on my specific car could be crappy.

Yeah right! How come owners of other makes and models don't complain as much in terms of their paint quality.

Toyota is the King of cost cutting nowadays. Buy another car and you'll understand.

Dealer Xing: I see people complaining about the paint on lots of makes and models. I love when you guys think it's all Toyota. I don't see how our paint is any worse than any other car out there. My Neon's paint was all messed up from just simple bugs hitting it. It happens to all of them. Talk to an auto detailer.

Here's what I wrote in the other thread in "Mods/performance area" because alot of people were getting mad at me.

Lets get one thing straight to all the FLAMERS. First I did not write about this "paint problem".. Frizdag did from Celica.Net, I just reposted it over here. Second, you're car may not have a whole bunch of chips on it from rocks, but some people do. I have lots of em. Even if a tiny rock hits my hood it chips. Even some parts of my roof are chipped. I called. Hopefully if Toyota actually cares about customers like they say they do, than we will get our cars repainted.

BTW My girl has a 98 Toyota Corolla. She travels just as frequently as me. No paint/rock chips on her car.
