It will be AWD, have a flux capacitor, run off garbage and be able to travel at speeds so fast that one can go back to any time period one wishes!!!!!

I predict that it will be available in two different trims. One trim will be powered by a 140 hp 1ZZ engine, the other will be powered by 180 hp 2ZZ engine w/6 speed transmission. Both will definitly be FWD. I also predict that the car will be sitting on it's current chassis.

I think that the interior and exterior will be completely different except I predict that the exterior will still use the triangular headlights, or a slight variation of them.

I don't think that we will see any major changes untile the 9th gen.

a "facelift" model, which usually precedes the "redesign" model. Look at the Solara.

you there... magazine racer kid!

You're partially right on Toyota becoming *yawn* boring. Toyota does provide fun cars to drive - the celica and the mr-s. I insist it will out lap alot of more powerful, more expensive RWD cars in the hands of a good driver. The MR-S in my opinion is quite close to being a very "pure" sports car, very balanced Midship. So yeah, like most of the people here, learn how to drive before you diss the car, for you more literarily! anyways, the new supra is going to be nice, not pure, but nice. :)

The new 8th gen will be released late 2004 as a 2005 model.

yea the MRS is still a nice car but they could have at least put a 2zz in there, you kno just give it some more power and that would be a great sports car. its light and nible just is missing some power. I have a feeling toyota is going to have a very hard time trying to match the MKIV surpa.

i love how you guys bash the richest automaker for not having cars like what, sti, evo. let's see what happens in the next couple of months when they come out with the 2005 Supra, 8th gen celica and a lexus supercar. alongside with a new IS and GS. also people forget about the IS and how some owners out there are putting down 300+ h.p. f/i. if i had a need for a true 4 door sport sedan i'd opt for a 2004 5 spd IS with lsd and slap a turbo on the sucker.

I was talking about Toyota itself not lexus. the IS looks great but honostly its nothing too specail (stock) performance wise. but get a turbo kit and thats a different story. but i was talking about stock performers.

Toyota and Lexus are the exact same thing. Toyota made up the Lexus company to sell thier high end cars to a market that had an economy stigma attached to their name brand. Lexus isn't just a company that Toyota owns, Lexus is Toyota.

ok, point taken.

the real question is, if a driver is into performance how long do you think their car is going to remain "stock"?

yes, owners are craving for more power but name me one car site where owners aren't looking for more go fast parts. the best example is this owner of gsr in speedshop i overheard a month ago asking one of the speed rep what he could get to be on par if not beat his buddy's SRT. i think the gts stock is competitive compared to cars in it's class.

yea the MRS is still a nice car but they could have at least put a 2zz in there, you kno just give it some more power and that would be a great sports car.

when you wrote that all i thought about was the new lotus elise. hopefully the trd s/c fits cause there's enough room in the back for one.
