wow that's pretty incredible. That LSD must help a lot off the line... I could see us doing better times if we could duplicate that last 2.1 60 ft launch Wild Bill did last time. I thought those things were only putting a 140 somewhat hp to the wheels? Is it the torque band that makes those things pull like that? I haven't even seen a stock R pull sub 15's at HRP yet. :(

hmmm that is pretty incredible....seeing that another stock spec V could only pull in a 16.2....but then again he jus learned how to drive stick....man 14.7? looks like clint's got lots of competition on friday :burnout:

I'm pretty sure it does.
That's pretty nuts. Why is everyone saying the V-Spec is a 15 sec car? That should have shocked a lot of ppl at HRP to see it run that kind of time. I'm interested in hearing the trap, 60 ft and 1/8 mile times so I can see where the car is pulling hardest.
Do ya know Warner?
Does anyone know any V-Spec member sites? I'd like to see what they're experiencing with their cars, as well as what's available for them.

hmmm, the car does put out 180 lbs of torque tho. i dunno how heavy it is. but yeah, i dont see any other spec v's on these message boards hitting 14s.

ahhh the truth is anything is possible. I don't wanna hate on anyone just because it sounds off. Who knows how good these drivers are vs. Warner's friend? I mean 15.4 stock, with me running 15.3s with a dyno'd 20 hp more than stock. It would really suck if everyone called this guy full of shyt and he laid out a can of whoop ass on everyone.

Well my like my friend with a Corolla S with a CAI said the spec V sentra coundn't pass him but he couldn't pull away. His best time with his Corolla was 16.2. I'd raise the B.S. flag on that 14.7. A lot of people think that Nissan overrated the HP numbers to get higher sales. when it first was adevertised they said 180hp then when a lot of car mags got low dyno numbers the new hp rating dropped to 175. Kinda fishy if you ask me.

:bs: Lsd helps but i dont think it can make that monumental a difference. I have lsd in the 4runner and it does help me control it better but I dont know if it makes me that much faster. Like clint said though, we shouldn't hate on a guy just because it sounds fishy... but I have known guys that say what their number should have been after they make their run. For example "ho man, if my tiahs nevah when slip, shoulda been 13's easy" Then his friend talks to someone else and then a 15. yadda yadda run turns into 13's. :gap:

Well, gotta say the SE-R put up a good fight tonight! Dammit I forgot your friend's name Delo. We both ran like shyt the first run. Our final run of the night was a good show of how the two cars measure I up tho I think... I thought I ran like crap but after reading the slip when I got home, I actually didn't do so bad at all. I ran a 15.5@90mph w/2.3 60ft and 71.65mph 1/8 trap. The Spec-V ran a 16.217@85 w/2.45 60ft and 69mph 1/8 trap. The car held pretty even in 1st and 2nd gear, but my 3rd gear pulled pretty hard on him. You can see that we were close at the 1/8th, with me ahead only because of the better launch, but when 3rd came into play I put 5mph over him by the 1/4.
Definitely a worthy platform... I'm impressed. I'm anxious to see what the aftermarket will bring for this car in the coming two years.
As for me, I feel like I put my car through hell tonight. I'm gonna have to give her another long break. In the meantime, I'm still trying to decide if another tuning session is worth the effort, or if I should just go back to what works and get the TSRM. We'll see in the coming month or so.
Congrats to Jay who finally broke the curse of the 16's, and is now a 15 sec runner! From this point on I think you'll continue to get faster. :) And also props to Warner and his friend for busting their cherries tonight, and joining in on all the fun! I expect great things from you guys... I'll be watching from the bleachers for awhile.
