driver's window got broken in and took out the deck and sub. He's got all the recpeits n ****
Will he's insurance go up??????? poor him.. He just got his stero install setup done last weekend...The sub wasn't screwed in..He's worry about it..what should he do???? suggestions He's worry that the insurance or all he gotta do is pay the deductable? ICBC is the insruance in BC Canada....thanks

I had my CRX broken into twice and all my audio gear was ripped out both times. Insurance paid for it all and my rates never went up. I had State Farm at the time btw. Best thing to do is read over your policy and give them a call. It all depends on the type of coverage you have.

most likely it will not go up, its not his fault, its vandalism and it should be covered, unless he has liability insurance.....then u got a problem.

Yeah, a theft claim won't make his premiums go up, only at-fault claims on the collision or liability insurance will do that.
But ICBC can be real pricks about paying out for replacements, they'll def want to see those reciepts if it's not original equipment, even better if he had it professionally installed and has a receipt for that too. The loose sub could be a problem, I remember hearing something about items not permanently attached could be considered as contents rather than part of the car, and only be covered up to some limited amount.

As long as your friend has comprehensive coverage for theft, it should work out. Make sure to report it to the police as well, and get a case number from them, ICBC will want that before processing a theft claim.

last time i got my truck broken into i got replacment value for cd's. my wifes makeup and all, but i don;t know if i would tell them the sub was loose, IMO that might be a little white lie, it did get stolen after all........
