Hi, I did a search,
and didnt really see any post about HID fogs...

hmm.. the reason is I do want HID on both low beam and fog..

.. cause the fog does shine a lot on ground and give lots of extra reflection which low beam (even hid) doesnt give...

just wondering is there H3 ( is it?) HID KIT arround and does anyone have any experience / idea input?

Thanks in advance

i think that fog hids are in the 1000$ range, but dont quote me on that. but i think that they are, atlesat some that i saw. but fog hids would be very very tight.

Using HIDs would defeat the purpose of fog lights. Fogs are supposed to be a bit yellower than your regular low beams. Yellow light cuts through fog/rain/snow/etc. way better than white light. White light reflects back at you, making it harder to see. That's why lots of cars with HIDs have yellow fogs (and our cars have a yellow filter in the fog's housing). Besides, fogs don't have much range, they're only for lighting up immediately in front of you and slightly to the sides. Using HIDs wouldn't improve your overall vision.

i do see stock high end cars with matching hid headlights and fogs though it looks tight.

i have seen it on one celica around here and it looked nice...i actually followed the guy off the highway to ask him about it...haha...both kits together(low and fog) costed him 1000 without install labor....looks nice but i think its overkill.

there are a few companies that make HID fog light kits, they are pretty expensive but if thats what you want, go for it. I know i saw a PIAA set in Japan. Not sure if HELLA also makes a set.

the beam pattern would be hard to keep clean. the H3 bulb's filament is transverse, not longitudinal like the HID bulb is. Also, sticking HID in there would create LOTS of glare, due to the way the fog are designed (not as sharp of a cutoff than the low beams).

scroll down to H3 and you willl see.

hid fogs are a bad idea... the light would just bounce back. :thumbdown

they dont have HIDs in the fogs...ive have yet to see that...nowadays more of the luxury cars are using better or even jus using projectors which causes it to look like HID, but it really isnt..that would be really annoying and would defeat its own purpose...it would glare itself...ive done research...and im on my second set of HIDs since i cant make up my mind on what i wanna do..but btw im doing the 03 headlight conversion in 2-3 weeks..ill keep ya'll updated:) wish me luck and that it works..*sigh*

oh yeah:gap: well having matching hid fogs would look nice imo even though its pointless, so are alot of other mods http://www.custommaxima.com/HID.php
this maxima has hid fogs and the site sells hid h bulbs.

hehe, screw these gauge and stereo leds..... everything HID, baby! You's have to wear sunglasses 24/7, but you'd be pimpin' and it would cost like $5k for you whole car.

actually,
i ask this cause i saw a HID fog picture from a HID forum

they have a White (41~4300K) low beam
and a Higher K fog (bluish) fog
and it looks Sooooo Good

pleae look at here below:

http://hidforum.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=1106

Actually, i wont worry too much fog light as in its real
"fog" 's usuage, cause a HID low beam is good enough to give visibility, if the condition is really that bad, i dun think a halogen fog would do any help.
rather, I was concentrating on the fog to give more visibility
check out the pic from that link
it help Quite a lot , and see much more from the ground/side
