4 people hit by car at my school...

..and it was a CELICA too! I didn't see the actually car hitting them, but by the time I got there, the road was closed to cars, an ambalence, and 3 police cars were there too. Looked like they were in pretty bad shape, two were released from the hosipital later that day and the other two were still in. Looks like she hit them from the side, the passenger side headlight was shattered and the windsheild was pushed back, so I'm guessing someone flew into it also.

man those headlites r tuff too.........i hit 1 of those big barrels they put up on road construction and it didnt breake.......

Nope car was totaly stock. I just found out it was a guy driving it. Looks like he was turning a corner too fast and hit them. They flew 30ft from what I've heard. Two of the four were released while the other two are on life support :( I'll try to find an article on it.

Crash Leaves 2 Rubidoux students in critical condition
An early-morning collision left two Rubidoux High School students in critical condition Wednesday.
The 6:50am accident happend on 42nd Street, after a Toyota Celica full of students bound for the high school rounded a bend, swerved to avoid an oncoming car and hit four studens walking to school. By late afternoon Wednesday, Ryan Lingo, 14, and Yoshadira Salgdo, 17, were listed in critical condition in the surgical intensive car unit at Riverside Community Hospital. Gilber Salgado, 15, and Nancy Salgado, 13, were treated and released Wednesday afternoon.
Police records show Lingo and Yoshadira Salgado sustained major head trauma, Gilber Salgado sustained a leg injury, and Nacny Salgado reported abdominal pain.
The tennagers were barely a half-mile from their school on a narrow residential street with no sidewalks when they were hit.
"They had three abreast and one in the back," said Officer Jim Whitney of the California Highway Patrol, Riverside station. "The kids were actually facing away from him when it happened."
Driver Cassidy Qui Nguyen, 18, of Riverside was the only teenager involoved who is not currently a student at Rubidoux High. Nguyen and at least three of his four passengers were wearing seat bels and were not injured in the crash.
Nguyen told CHP offivers he veered to the right because he feared an oncoming car might hit him, and that he saw the teenagers when he looked to the front again, tried to stop and could not aviod hitting him (it was a GT, stupid drum brakes :chuckles: )
An investigation is underway to determine how fast Nguyen was traveling.
