Maybe it's just me, but it seems like the Celi takes forever to warm up! Most of the time I'm late-to school, work and every place else, that I just let the car "warm up" for like 2 or 3 minutes, then I'm out!
Am I doing any damage to the car by not waiting until the car is properly warmed up?
Also, warming up the car is really just getting the oil up to temperature, right?

There is no need to let the car warm up. You are fine.

all it really is, is to make sure that the internals are all lubed up and ready to go... it's fine to let the car warm up for like 30 seconds (in northern cali weather)(not too warm) and drive it gently until fully warm

I heard you're supposed to just turn the car on, let the revs settle at the (higher than normal) idle speed (wchich takes about 20-30 seconds) and then just drive, keeping it under about 4,000 until ur like 2 clicks up the heat gauge.

Actually, I wonder if the engine even can warm up when it's just idleing... At least when it's actually cold out it doesn't seem to matter how long I leave it idleing, the gauge never moves and I can't get any heat out of the heater.
On frosty mornings I have to get out on the road and boot it a few miles if I want to avoid frostbite. At least that's my excuse :D

Yeah, i think i read in the manual not to just sit therre and let it idle. Let the revs settle and then drive.

This is the best thign to do:
turn on car, wait 30 seconds, then start driving keepign the revs below 3000 rpms. You'll warm up the fastest this way.
if you let it idle, (i've heard many arguments about this) it's not bad for your car, your just wasting gas and it will take longer to warm up then driving around at low rpms

That's probably the best thing to do.

Doesn't anyone read the owners manual anymore? It states in the manual that you don't need to let it warm up for any more than 8 seconds unless the conditions are extreme. That's not verbatim but it's something like that.
