I got bat's redout and smoke overlays for my tails and I'm going to stick 'em on the reds tonight and the smokes tomorrow. I really want to put them on right, and I know your supposed to make a soap and water spray to put on first. I just have a couple questions about the.
1) is it just car wash soap?
2)does the overlay stick to the soap?
3)would you guys recomend doing it this way or just straight apllying it?
4)would there be a problem putting the red on first and then the smoke later? or doesn't the order matter?
thanks.
(don't need to answer all any will help)

can someone please help? I want to do it tonight.
I guess I'll try...
1) I used just a tiny dab of dawn soap, in water, so I don't know about car wash soap. Just a tiny drip of soap, though
2)The soap is just there with the water to make the overlays easier to plac and move around when you first apply them. And when you got everything like you want it, the soapwater solution dries up, letting the adhesive stick, almost like tinting windows.
3) In my opinion if I had to do it over again, I would just apply it without the soap stuff, you just have to take your time with a steady hand, and not peel it back off too many times.
4) I'd definitely put the red on first if you want it too look evenly smoked. Otherwise the redded out area would't match the smoke, if you put the smoke overlay on first.
Off-topic, but I noticed in another thread somewhere, that you might be looking to get the molly designs bodykit, if you go this route, let me know, because I'm from Central PA and I'm sure if we order 2 kits at the same time, we could save a little $ on shipping.

Get a squirt bottle and spray the sticky side of overlays with soapy water. Don't try and just stick them on b/c it's impossible.
After I got the overlay in place, I used a hairdryer and my finger to smooth out all the bubbles and creases.

Hey, if I wanted to get the darkest tint from Bat's overlays, would overlapping two sets of V14's (I think they are the darkest ones) work, or would one be enough?

two would deffinitally be darker than one. I haven't put my 14s on yet so I don't really know how dark they are. except from pics I've seen. by the way, how much soap are you supposed to put in the water??
