the most important thing is the deck. With the deck hooking up aftermarket speakers and subs is much easier and sound better. Also look up some tips for installing. 90% of good sound and SPL come from the install and not always from how good and expensive the equipment are.

I totally agree. People seem to think that the more you spend on car audio, the better the system will be. That can't be further from the truth. Where you install the speakers and HOW you install them plays a huge role in how they will sound. Example: The speakers I run right now are JL XR's. I had them in my Jeep Cherokee in kicks and the pillars, and they sounded great. Now with them in the Celica, they sound amazing. 100-times better.

I suggest you find some guys with Celica's and take a listen. I can suggest some speaker brands, but YOU need to listen to them with your ear. We all have different tastes in music.

Another important thing is what you are looking for in a system? I prefer something that sounds crisp and clean, with no over-powering bass, while others just want a row of subs with some tweets. Also, what's your budget? Give us a window.

ok first of all fill me in on what the system parts are ..... i know what the subs, and amps are but like fill me in on what tweets, kickers, and the others are :) ........ once again im not that good with stereo stuff.

my kind of sound? im lookin for like a mix ...... id like the nice sound but the bass is a must have.

i was at my friends house when this dude showed up ...... he had pioneer subs, amps, and the other speakers in his celica ( i live in a celica town) and it sounded great ...... would pioneer be a good way to go? if so how many of what should i get? or should i just copy his?

and by the way i dont need help with the fiberglassing ....... this one dude taught me how and i played around in my van fiberglassing stuff ....... :D

thanx for ur help so far ....... peace

A basic system includes a sub or two (or more), amp for the sub(s), and a wiring kit that can be found at any store that sells the audio equipment. For wiring, the kit should have the remote wire, power wire, and fuse. You might also have to buy a line-output convertor and/or RCA's. That's a basic system for use with a stock deck.

From that, you can replace the deck with something with a bit more power and what not. You will need a wiring harness and a mounting kit.

You can also add new speakers, possibly with a new amp.

It's hard to say how to hook everything up, since there is so much to cover. What all do you want to add?
