View Full Version : with the invader hood...when it rains what do u do?

okay im about to order the invader hood and where i live it rains alot..quetion is when it rains where does the water go? i leave my car out side so its a problem...when it rains will it mess up my car since the other engine is right there under the vent? should i even worry or what...thanx a lot for the space..

I don't think it would cause any problems. The vent pretty much opens up to the intake manifold and stock air box (or empty hole if you have a CAI). You won't even have to worry if you have a short ram because there won't even enough water to hydrolock the engine.

dood i have a cai with no under body plastics + my bumper has a 3.5 inch hole right in front of the filter and i'm running fine... just don't be an idiot in the rain.. as for getting ur engine wet... uhh should be ok... if u want... make ur own rain guards.. lol.

I've got the hood on my daily driver...never had any problems at all so far. I have the injen CAI also and leave my car outside too

i had the invader hood with the Injen short ram intake and i didn't run into any problems. Just be careful if it downpours- i put some ducktape over the vent if it started pouring out- but even without the tape, it was still fine........

i have a firned with that hood on an eclipse. We live in AZ and when it pours it f'in purs, and he has never had a problem at all

I got the blitz shortram and the invadar hood... No problem at all, and where I live (vancouver BC) it pretty much rain at least 2 times a week.

a lil bit of everythign on this thread. basically if you cant get any advice and like me are planning to buy a new hood(not cheap) like this and you are a n00b about the details of this hood, then it helps....

just to support the common theme.....I've had NO problems here in Houston. I have invader with AEM CAI.
we get TONS of rain here in houston.....you'll be fine.
