I've recently had some H&R springs installed on my Celica and can't be happier with the performance.

I have had a few problems over the past couple of days with there being a funny sound coming from the front strut/shock while going over bumps. Is this sound the spring compressing and banging onto itself or is this a problem with the spring not sitting on the shock properly?

I know this has been posted many times, but any input or advice would be appreciated. Thanx

How loud is it? I heard of stiff sways creaking, but not so much springs doing it. I would have the place who installed it for you check it out.

If your springs didn't come with rubber around both ends, then it could be the springs banging together at full compression. It could also be that the spring isn't seated correctly. If you installed them, it isn't much work to remove and check it out. If the spring is seated correctly, go get some large vinyl or silicone tubing from Home Depot and wrap it around the first foot or so of each end of the spring to prevent the noise from returning. My Tein springs already came with similar pieces to eliminate noise like that.

One final thing to check would be the nuts on the top and center of the strut. Make sure they're tight.

Check your endlinks! Tighten them with the wheel turn and you will most likely find that they are lose.

save up from some new shocks. Your struts should be dead in 6-12 months. then the banging gets worse.
