I am going to power my new gauges from the parking light circuit. How do I get the power from the gauges up to the parking light through the firewall?

I heard you can do it with the tail light circuit too, but I am not sure how to get to that either.

The easiest way is to find the correct circuit on the fuseboard (lower left of the passenger side foot well), and use a fuse tab. That way you do not have to go through the firewall at all, and just use the existing wiring.

What/where can I get a fuse tap?

So I just tap into the parking light fuse?

Fuse taps can be purchased at Radio Shack, Wal Mart, Pep Boys, AutoZone, etc.

So I go get a fuse tap, tap into fuse for the tail lights. Is there a fuse for the parking lights? They are always once the headlights/highbeams are on.

Another question, I have this little folder over splitter device. You put one wire in and can clamp it down and make a split. Odd little thing. Is there a way I can just clamp that onto the power wire coming out of the fuse box to the tail lights? Then it would still be "on the fused line" and I could run the power up the new gauges. Also, in that case where should I connect the black wire? Should I find one of the other ground wire and hook it into that?

Well it all went well. I learned a lot about the car's electronics and found that the ground wire from the cig harness is the white and black wire, not the green or green and black.
