Don't fix it until you graduate. They'll probably key it again.

Sad but true, they'd prolly key it as soon as it was repainted. Just sucks that means ya got the scratch there. Heh.

arg.. i would say wait to get it painted but personally i just cant stand to see it there.. it hurts! at least its on the pass side n you dont have to look at it everytime you get into the car. have you tried buffing it out with scratch swirl remover. prolly wont take it out but it might help.. ? sorry to hear the misfortune

call your insurance company, tell them where it happened, theyll send an adjuster over to look at it, then theyll send you an estimate, now you in return can either go to a paintshop of their choice or you can go to one of your choice, in some instances you can end up making some money out of this if what they have quoted you is more then what the paintshop charges.

That happened to a friend of mine. He has a '96 Eclipse GS-T, and it was show quality. Because he was worried about it getting keyed again, he decided to jus' put vinyl on it until he saved up the money to repaint the car the way he wanted to... Just a suggestion. It was another way for him to customize his car. He just changed up the design every few months.

Pretty much the same thing happened to my carbon blue celica way back when.. except I just parked in a parking lot outside my apartment every day..
I got it fixed for around $800. Luckily whoever did it didn't do it again before I could sell my car.. :)

if its not too deep you can probably get it buffed out, take it to a detailer see what they can do for you

Bling is right! If they see you concerned about your car by repainting it they'll do it again. But that gives you more reason to paint it and keep guard on the car so you can nab the guy who does it.
This guy will most likely do it within few days aftewr you do it.
If I were you I would break his knee cap. I probably have several friends take turns and guard the car until you see this guy approcaching your car then kick his ass. Guys like this need to be taught a lesson.

If you talking about the whole one side, it's going to be $1000-$1500.

Can you post a pic of it?
I would just touch it up. It looks sh*tty up close, but from a distance, you probably wont notice it.
I wouldn't have the insurance company fix it, because it might not be worth the debductible you have to pay, or the rate increase you might get. And if you have a cut rate insurance company, it will be more hassle than you need.
And everybodys right, he will most likely key you again. I'd get an alarm system that pages, or just park it outside your school.

bastards... there's nothing worse than that annoying feeling you have when you drive around and you know you have scratch or a dent...

Ha ha...man thats not as bad as I got it. I dont know who did it yet, Im thinking it was the boyfriend of some girl that liked me alot (long story, not worth typing). Well, I woke up to find my car egged, Keyed, and 3 tires slashed. I got the insurance company t opay for it al, had a $150 deductable is all. Anyhow, no one has touched it since, he knows im gonna go straight to him and jack him if it happened again, and nothing. Oh well, Im a forgiving guy...and his girl was hot, so what can a guy like me do?

For most insurance companies, vandalism doesn't have a deductible. I have had my Tundra keyed my Avalon keyed and both times ins payed for it no deductible. For the whole side though it will cost 800-1300 depending on the shop.
