Just finally got this done and installed last night...I had a beat up CF hood, but was able to restore the center section, so this is what I had my shop do...

wow. ur car looks freakin good. how much did that cost ya? if i decide to get a cf hood, i'm def doing that. also is that HID? if so, is it the 4100k?

well, its kind of a story, but this kid i met had this fiber images CF hood, he got into an accident, and a small part of the hood just a corner, had a few cracks inthe clear coat...but the rest he just didn't take care of, and the clear coat was foggy and literally rubbing off i think, it had white clotches all over the clear coat..it could not be buffed or pollished...also the CF section of the hood was coming apart from the underneath support of the hood...i spent about an hour on just that middle section to scratch remove, buff and polish most imperfections out, and then had my shop repair the underneat to give the hood better integrity (and also paint the underneat black) and also primer, paint and clear the top part leaving the center CF...he sold me the hood for $70 and then my guy at the shop charged me a total of $300...but that also included paintint my entire back bumper and rear valence of my WW body kit (had scratches when someone hit me when i was parked)...so he really charged me about $150 to repair, paint, install the hood and the hood pins (which i bought for around $20 off ebay...hope all this makes sense...glad you all like it, I REALLY LOVE IT, more so than just a normal CF hood...looks so hot in person...and dont sh1t yourself, but the kid that sold me the hood gave me his VIS CF raised scoop from his new hood (the one you see in the pic) for $20...when I gave him the stock fiber images scoop (he wanted to OEM looking one)...lucky me! no, they are cuzo zenon bulbs...not as bright as they look in the pic, but have a distinct blue look at certain angles, not bad bulbs for looks for the $20 they cost me...

I have the same idea in mind when i get a CF hood. btw, ure hood looks like it fits perfectly. did he bondo the sides and paint over it so that it all fits snug like that? looks factory, i ask this becuz most CF hoods i see are usually slightly off around the headlight/fender area. everything looks top nothc on ue car, cept one thing. that red winshield banner looks faded and old. if you take that off i think it'd look even better IMO. I want ure wheel arches! :)

the hood i believe is fiber images...and my shop did not have to do anything with the fitment...it is almost like the fit of an OEM hood, there are slightly larger gaps around the fender area... and it was not fitting exactly flush at the front near the bumper and that rubber piece on the front bumper, but the hood pins push it down...it really does fit quite well....and yes, my red banner is really worn out...I need a new one, it has been through a few winters and is looking quite rough ;) Thanks for the compliments and suggestions...

That looks extremely nice. Good job. My only suggestion would be to paint the little Toyota grill insert flat black or remove it all together and put in an aftermarket black grill.

too late, i sold my raised red scoop and i think(if i still have it, which i think i do) my stock red scoop is at home in rochester, NY...6 hours away...i'm sure someone could do a quick photoshop on it thou...but I think it would look better with the CF strip all the way up and down the hood, including the scoop, but a red scoop could look good as well, interesting idea...

BEAT UP - the hood had been on a car that had been hit on the fender, so the side above the headlight near the fenger had some cracks in the clear coat and the carbon fiber underneat kind of look "scrunched"...like a piece of paper that had been wrinkled or folded and then tried to be smoothed out...the clear coat was also foggy and had white spots/blotches where i think the clear coat was rubbing off...there were also a few other banged up spots at the tips and a few bubbles in the clear. All this "damage" was on the sides where I had it painted red...so this was all sanded down anyway. I spent a lot of time, well over an hour using scratch remover (the 3M stuff shops have) and wax to bring back the shine and what was left of the clear coat in the middle section that I left CF. This style was the only way I would have been able to use this messed up hood, but now, I would not have done it any other way. It could have been re-clear coated, but that would have been like 200-300 I think and the CF underneat still would not have looked that good...I think this style is very clean and looks very original. I dont mind if you use my style, after all, I essentially got the idea from the 2001 APR 300GT celica ;) Thanks for all the comments!

that wing is the stock euro spec wing. but I got a trd wing sittin here. I put it on yesterday and looked good with the rear but fitment was ****ty! my old wing (sig) will be for sale when the trd is installed

thanks Simon...well that hood is now in pieces...i think the hoodscoop made it thought the crash ok, but I guess the insurance appraisal guy had to literally break the hood in pieces to get to my engine bay...oh well, it was nice for a week...and I will probably do the same thing if I get the celi fixed or get a new celi and transfer what aftermarket pieces I have left, thanks for all the comments everyone!
