if you set your side mirrors all the way out, you'll be able to see everything with em

I set my mirrors for the blind spots. If you have a lot of time on your hands you can fine-tune it so that when a car you see in the rear view mirror passes you on either side (and starts to disappear from the rear view), you will then start to see it in your side mirrors. Then all you really need to do is look directly beside you to make sure no one is there.
I'm so used to this now I hate when I get in someone elses car and their mirrors are set for behind the car. Why do I need to see 3 differernt views of the same thing.

I broke down and bought some of those adhesive convex mirrors for my rearviews... does the job for me.. :D
Shoulder checking does very little good in a hatchback due to the window design, so the key really is in the mirrors

Are you extremely short? Or maybe extremely tall? I'm 5'10" and I don't have any problems.

the side rear windows are extremely small to see out of. This leaves HUGE gaps where the structural areas of the actual hatch block the view of cars.
This is typiclal for most hatchbacks in comparison with sedans and coupes which have larger windows.
this has nothing to do with how tall i might be, this is just a fact of design.

Agreed. However, I don't know about you but when I shoulder check I don't look as far back as my rear side window. I only glance beside my shoulder.
P.S. I like your signature. I've heard that comment before, I just didn't know who it originated from. :P

After having my car for almost two yrs, I don't even notice I have bigger blindspots than other cars.
