I remember when I first drove my 2000 Celica GTS, and the clutch pedal was so easy to push in. As time passes by it seems to get harder and harder to push in and is really making my leg tired.

Maybe it's my imagination but I believe it is much tighter now then when I first bought it. I'm taking it into the dealer to see what they say about it.

Has anyone else experienced this problem with their clutch pedal?
Is it normal, and is it something that can be adjusted?

Thanks in advance.

Sooner or later it will squeak too. The pedal feeler stiff is a precursor to it squeaking.
There is a rubber square accordion boot. you need to spray some grease into the tranny parts inside.

Try driving a Porsche, it's hard as a brick. Once you drive the Porsche and went back to your celica. Your celica clutch seems broken. I wonder how do people drag race a porsche.

But seriously...Don't you guys remember the clutch being very light at first?

And how is gear shift squeaking related to the clutch pedal being stiff? It's not scraping or anything, it's quite smooth actually, just hard to push in, and i do hear a slight squeak in the clutch pedal.

And yes I hear squeaks in the my gear shift as well.
And yes it's much smoother in warmer weather.

go get your shift linkage lubricated.. fixed my squeak (and it was SO much easier to shift afterwords!!)

Yeah, my shifter just started squeeking when I shift into second gear. I was just about to post a question on this, I figured the linkage just needed some lubrication but since I had my engine rebuilt from a 3-2nd misshift i thought it mihgt have had something to do with it.

How exactly do i lube the linkage? Will the dealer do it? Under warenty?

HAHA... TRD clutch gives like 200 times more resistance to the pedal than the stock clutch. I think my left leg is bigger than my right one now. :) (no jokes!)
