I just rotated my tires, and I noticed that the front two tires were worn in the center an extreme amount, as compared to the outside of the same two tires. When I took the back tires off, they were completely fine, worn evenly. Any Ideas on this. The cold tire pressure of all four tires was 32 psi. They are also the same factory tires that came with the car. Yoko's
Thanks.
This is probably a dumb idea. But what if someone made a sticky on the topic of tire wear, and what the problems are for each type.

I think, usually, accelerated center wear is the result of high inflation pressures. I had the same thing on my stockers.

I think it's common because the Toyota recommended pressure is higher than optimal for tire wear. But the higher pressure should result in better handling, judging by the pressures the autocrossers run. It's a compromise.

That's right the center wear is due to the over inflation. 32 is a good universal guide but it really does vary.... I had to keep mine about 29.30 pounds. But that was on spankin new k'mos

I'll lower the pressure in them then. Thanks for the response. I'll go for 30psi.

I remember back in 00 when the car came out, everybody with a GTS had a problem with the center tread wearing out.

Depends on the tire size your driving too - I'm running my Kumos on 40 psi and have no center wear problems.

I believe the tire is the factory 225/50/16 I could get off my lazy arse and go check but I do know it's the 50/16, I just can't remember the first number. I figured it might be from all the hard cornering I do, along with tire pressure.
