I was told by someone on the board that.. I need to get hub centric ring for my new rim.
Volks TE-37 18x7.5 5x100 30 offset..
I've personally install them my self... and it fits perfectly..
I've also use the Rays lugs...
It suppose to alight the wheel center to the bolts so it doesn't give stress to other bolts.....
If the wheel wasn't installed in center wouldn't I feel vibration of some sorts...??

yah i needed these with my racing hearts but they came with them.
hubcentric rings arent really necesary if ur wheels dont vibrate at high speeds. even if u dont have them u can torque the wheels b4 fully lowering ur car and it should get rid of any vibrations

I'm the one that PMd Dooly, as I just got a set of Volks as well... I can't speak for vibration issues, cuz I don't have rings and I don't have vibrations. However, almost everyone I've talked to said that I should go ahead and get them (they're only $20)... I was told that though vibration may not be an issue, that if the wheel is misaligned, it can cause stress to the bolt that it is biased towards, possibly causing it to sheer...
I ended up ordering a set of hubcentric rings from MVP Motorsports, who is getting them directly from Mackin Industries. It was $28 including shipping, which isn't much considering how much the rims are worth...

I've got a slight vibration at freeway speeds on my new wheels. It's not constant, but rather rhythmic, on and off again every few seconds. Will hubcentric rings cure my problem?

I was told that a way to tell if you need them or nor, is to decide when you mount your wheel. If the rim sits tight on the hub and does not move around (before the lugs are put on), you do not need them. If there is any movement of the wheel, get them.

Basically hubcentric rings are needed when the hub on the car is smaller than the part of the rim which fits over it. For those who dont know...the hub is the raised part inbetween the studs. So say the hub on the car is 3 inches across and the part of the wheel that fits around it is 3.5 inches...well then you will have slop and the wheel will not fit snug around it. So like uansari said the wheel will be putting stress on which ever stud it is biased towards. No matter how much the lugs are torqued down it wont cure the misalignment and the stress on the studs. They should ALWAYS be used when there is any size difference. I am sure some of you guys have seen people on the side of the road after a wheel comes off...most of the time those cars have aftermarket wheels...and I would say 9/10 times it is because of not having hubcentric rings and the studs break. I am not saying that will happen to everyone who doesnt use them, but decide...$30 for the rings and having the peace of mind or having a wheel break off and damaging your car and possibly injuring yourself.
