2 Channel Amp Same As 4?

Can I hook up my speakers Front Left and Rear Left together into 1 channel, and Front Right, and Rear Right into 2nd Channel and will be the same as getting a 4 channel amp?

Since there's only 2 channels in Stereo anyways. I won't be able to fade to front or rear. Otherwise, will it sound the same?

I'm thinking into getting a nice powered 2 channel amp and hook up 4 speakers. Would you recommend it?

Or a 4 channel amp, bridged into 2+1 and power 4 speakers and 1 sub. ?

you dont want to do that.. stereo works by offsetting the timing of one signal from the other.. if you start sending left signals from the right speakers you wont get any channels you'll basically mess up the timing and the iluusion of 3d quickly dissapears

also you manipulate the OHM LOAD
car audio runs at 4ohm normally if you put two speakers on the same channel you will make that a 2ohm load.....which will make your fullrange sound like sh!t.....

don't be cheap and get either a 4 channel or a 5 channel

Yeah what he said... and also remember that dropping your resistance increases your power exponentially...

P=I^2 R which means that if you half your resistance and at the same time double your current (V=IR voltage stays at contant 12)you'll notice that your equation now reads twice the power... which can be dangerous because your stock wires aren't designed for load like that... it can burn through insulation and cause an electrical short or a fire... plus you'll need to replace your fuses cause chances are you'll go over start blowing them quickly with the increased current running through them.
