Looking for a little holiday help from NE

Hey everyone!

I just wanted to post this and ask some help of NE'ers!!!

My club Naughty and Nice Racing and Customs promised earlier this year to make a large donation to an animal shelter in Long Island (Kent). Because of the tropical storm that took place on our annual car show where we were to collect items for this donation, we got less than half of what we intended to donate.

I am asking help from local people we know and that know NNRC to help us get this donation worthy and help make this shelters holiday a great one! Shelters in LI are overcrowded as it is, and very cold in the winter. Many new pets get left there after Christmas as holiday gifts gone wrong.

If you would like to help out you can do so by the following:

**Dropping off items from the item list at the end of this post at Audio XTC Inc. Deer Park, NY

**Bringing items to any meets between now and the donation time which will be LATE December or early Jan.

**Shipping them to us. 52 River Ave, Riverhead, NY 11901. (shipping receipt can be used as a donation tax write off)

**Other boards have also paypaled a donation and I will purchase what i can with that $ or add it to the cash donation. audioxtc@aol.com Anyone chosing this I can fax or snail mail you an actual receipt of the items purchased if you like.

I will be including a card with the donation stating the clubs and forums who participated in the donation such as the North Eastern Owners of NewCelica.org as well as a printed list of names of every individual person that donated. Some businesses have also made a donation and their name will be included.
After the donation is made a copy of the donation slip will be posted on Naughty and Nice's web site as proof of our donation to the shelter.

The shelter is Kent Animal Shelter in Riverhead, NY. Next year we will chose another shelter out of NY state.

i'd like to make a suggestion. i think you'll raise the chances of people's involvement if you include some sort of incentive.

for example, take a picture of the animals. then you can either send the picture of the helped animal to the person that helped it. if the tracking of that proves too difficult, then people could simply choose a picture as keepsake.

also, you could dress up your team in varying levels of revealing clothes (dressed in the holiday spirits). the higher the donation, the more revealing souvenir!

and for argument's sake, how would i know my receipt was produced using my money, and you're not sending the same receipt for everyone who has sent $x ? :D

I will send the actual reciept if that is what it takes... The photos of the donation items as well as the itemized donation reciept from Kent Animal Shelter will prove everything accounted for.

It's the season of giving, nothing should be required to be given back from animals in need! :) If you visit www.kentanimalshelter.com you can see all the pets available for adoption that you would be helping. Also in viewing their site you can see that they are in dire need of food for the shelter!

Just an FYI- I have $100 cash for a donation and about $200 worth of supplies to donate! I am still recieveing donations day by day from family members, friends, car enthusiasts etc. This should be a very nice Christmas for Kent Animal Shelter!

I am going to be dropping off this donation tomorrow afternoon around 1PM!

If you have any last minute doations you can still paypal to the address in the first post. Please nothing after midnight tonight. I will post an exact cash ammount and exact list of donated items on Monday. As soon as I am able to get access to a scanner a scanned copy of the donation reciept will be posted on www.naughtyandniceracing.com.

If you would like a hard copy of the reciept please PM me a home address, or a fax number to send it to you. :) You may also be able to call the shelter to confirm the donation.

Donation drop went very well...

I called the shelter before hand to see if they would preffer supplies and $100 cash or just supplies. They said it would be alot better for them to just get supplies that way they don't have to send anyone outside.

So Kenny and I dropped off:
4 40lb bags of dog food.
1 20lb bag of puppy food
3 10lb bags of cat food
20 cans of wet cat food
1 massive box of dog biscuts
1 small box of dog biscuts
16 boxes of puppy starter food from Eukanuba
2 small bags of cat food
1 small bag of dog food
and a large box full of toys, treats, dishes, leashes and old towels.

The employees at Kent were almost shocked that all that food was for them. They were very happy and couldn't stop saying thank you. I took photos of the items donated at the shelter on a camera and will get the pictures developed as soon as I finish the roll and put on disk so that I may post them. I also have reciepts that once I have access to a scanner that will be scanned and posted.
