I know I used to read alot about ppl doing this with the RMM bar, so I'm not surprised that I've done this. Especially since I wasn't using a torque wrench like I should have. Anyway, I was tightening down the stock nuts to the tower bolts after taking off my SUSTEC bar (had to take it off before bringing in the car to the dealership for faulty battery replacement, dealership threatened to charge my friend $120 to remove the bar on his car), and *snap*. I knew it wasn't a good sign. Today I notice the top of the bolt has completely broken off.
For those of you who had that problem, were you able to find a replacement bolt at the dealer? Anyone happen to have the part #? I gotta get this fixed as soon as possible. :(
February has not been my month. First the battery dies, then I find scratches on my headlight that look like a cat used it for a scratching post, and now this. Yikes.

It would be cheaper to just replace the entire bearing plate. it will run you about $40. The bolts are aluminum alloy so you have to be careful.

The entire bearing plate? Thanks for the info, I'm on my way to the parts department now to check it out! :)

Why would you need to replace the entire bearing plate if its just a bolt? cant u just go to Home Depot and get another one?

wow talk about bringing this one back from the dead!I posted this a long time ago.
Mmm I did end up buying a new bearing plate because the bolt is not sold seperately. Good luck finding one to fit the plate at ANY hardware or automotive parts store, the bolts pressed into the plate look to be specially made.
If they did sell the bolt seperately at the parts department it would be a different story, but they don't here. I dunno if that's true everywhere.
Stupid thing is, shortly after purchasing the bearing plate, I decided to upgrade to a full coilover system that also had camber plates/pillow mounts. The old bearing plates were tossed. I never got to use the new one I bought, and it's lying around collecting dust now. :(

I need one of these too. After testing 50+ Front strut bars by hand on my vehicle it has taken it's toll and finally snapped last week. Anyone got the part #???
