Have you guys noticed your low-beams burning out quick?
I had one go out a few days ago and just this morning my second one went out. To coincidental for my liking. I replaced the passenger side some time last year. I was even carefull to keep the finger prints off the bulbs.
I am going to be able to set a time record at changing them if this keeps up.
They were even Sylvania bulbs, not a no name.
Oh well, looks like I'll be buying more after work.

That's why you keep the stock bulbs.

if its any consolation. in my old corolla, i went thru like 5 pairs of bulbs in 3 weeks because my sound system was causing my alternator to work too hard and kept blowing bulbs....as soon as i got a 1 farad cap it stopped

Anything other than stock seems to burn out faster

I've heard it's better to turn the headlights off before you turn the car off. Something like a power surge occurs when the car is shut off, and it doesn't have a good effect on the life of light bulbs. Aftermarket bulbs also suck when it comes to longevity (no matter what brand or color).

You peasants are still running halogens. Get on the HID train. Kidding...Stock bulbs usually last a very long time.

Jeez....I guess so about the stockers. I was looking at the construction and markings on the stock bulbs vs. the Sylvania bulbs and I swear they were manufactured in the same place. The numbers were even similiar.
I took them out last night and they looked pretty toasted. There was some sort of clumpy white stuff in the inside. Anyway, it's a LOT easier to replace them when you don't remove that screw holding the clip in! I learned my lesson the first time hehe :)
I'll remember the possible surging thing during shut down. Thought it was strange to go through (2)sets of low beams with the same set of high beams burning everyday. (DRL)

Get it checked out, maybe there is something wrong with the car...

If the set I just put in burns out then I'll consider that. I have a voltage feature on my fuzz buster. I'll double-check it when I leave today. I can't imagine that being a problem without other more serious symptoms.
I did have my entire head light assemblies replaced on both sides. (condensation) All the burnt bulbs have happened since then. I'll stick with the fluke idea unless these burn out shortly.

Jump in on the Xenondepot.com GB in the GB forum. HID's will last longer and are brighter than halogens. GO HID'S!!!!!!
