Finally got around to painting and installing my 02' Toyota lower grill.

I think a red grill would look way bad on yours. Post a pics or two if you do it!

Hey looks good... I want to paint my upper grille white to match my Grillcraft white lower grille. Just wondering what kind of paint you used, and if there are any special steps to take in preparation for the paint to adhere properly.

Does the 2002 model lower grille fit the 2000 model Celica with minimal fuss?

I was looking at getting a custom mesh job on the lower grille, but it would be easier to just get a 2002 model grille, if it fits up easily.

Scotty: I painted it myself. 3 coats of primer. I searched for some silver spray paint (Krylon) that matched and put 5 coats on. I next put 4-5 coats of urethane spray paint down. I put the urethane on kinda heavy so teh droplets flowed together and made a smooth as glass finish. Pictures don't quite do it justice. It looks like a shop did it, and it cost about $15.

MattyP: Get the grill!!! It will fit and very easy to install. I liked the way it matches the stock upper grill and I liked the larger diamond shape better than the custom grill that I replaced.

Hey cool! You finally got around to doing it. Looks nice! Now I'm even more tempted to paint mine. I don't know if red will look as good though. I'll have to think about it more. Plus my emblem is already red so it might look dumb. Choices, choices :P

Sponge (or anyone who has done it),
Is there any additional hardware needed to mount the 2002 grill on a 2000 or 2001? Would you mind passing on instructions (very brief is fine). I am pretty good, mechanically, but don't want to reinvent the installation, if someone has already done that (lazy, huh!) ;)

lxj7105: The grill sits about 1.5 inches back from where the paint leaves off on the front lip. I might buy a digi cam this weekend so I'll post some lower side angle pics if I do.

BB_GT01: Yeah check the install section. Our one-and-only ReDoX did a write up on it. Easy to do and looks good.
