lookin for some meets to goto

hello everybody, some of you may know me from

I am a 16 year old from longmeadow, massachusetts, hopin to go to some celica meets!!! i have a 2002 toyota celica gts with trd front bumper, side and rear body kits, trd spoiler, s2000 antenna.....and will do more when i have the cash. I will soon be getting a vis raised hood scoop......

ya, i would love to go to the meet this weekend in long island........my mom wont let me go......seein that im only sixteen and just got my license in september, and had gotten a ticket during my first month, she said maybe after the winter she'll let me drive to more distant place than just boston..........there should be a meet in boston!!! anyways sry i cant go

i know that feeling.... my mom always used to give me sh!t when i wanted to go to meets. then it was my gf who gave me sh!t for going to meet strange people i've never met before. but i can honestly say i've met alot of cool people and im glad i joined this forum. thats why i dont mind traveling to NY!! dont worry greg, we'll hit up some meets next year. i'd like to set up one in boston too but i doubt those NY'ers would come all the way up here... SLACKERS!!!!!! and im probably one of the only MA guys (besides kia) who attends meets anymore.

BTW, what did you get a ticket for? the celica is evil i tell ya! i never had any trouble with my previous cars, then i got this and it made me want to speed all the time :evil: and since then i've been pulled over countless times :(

i was lucky, the guy gave me a warning, i was goin 50+ in a 35 zone. when ever i see a cop i always slow down a little, and he was like i notice u slowed down a little. but whats even stranger, is that now the cops patrol down my street, and if my car is in the drive way that stop and look at it. and i have been followed numerous occasions around town by the cops and theyll take the same turns i do and such. i think they think im a street racer. the other day i was at the center of town where there are restaurants and stuff and every school had half days, so these little kids on their bikes rode up to me in my car and asked if i was a street racer.......i feel like an idle.......lol

yea i get followed alot too. but im 100% legal except for my missing front plate. so no worries. and i havent been hit for speeding since may '02 when i got busted for driving to endanger and racing and my friend kenns first eclipse ended up under a TT right in front me. some of the old NE'ers might remember that and have seen the pics. scary sh!t!!!!!

racing isnt cool ;) thats why i keep it to a bare minimum now. and BTW, its spelled idol. not idle. LOL.

Hey Ive driven from NJ to Wooster, MA. to catch up with a girl I was dating. She was going to Clark University. Then again, getting some azz was enough incentive for the drive. If I was still in NJ I would drive up for ya Mat

no way, mine is still 100% legal. H&R Sport Springs only lower the car 1.3". with some settling im sure its still less than 2". but i do have a heavy ass box in my trunk and the 18's fill the wheel wells quite nicely :)

so i went to the outlets down an exit from my work and as im pulling into a spot, i see a 2003 carbon blue gt-s with rims, mirror tint, and a drop pulling out. so i backed into my spot and flashed my high beams at him and tried to get his attention, but he kept on driving. i was pissed! i've never seen that car before either. and oh yea, i did forget simon. but im trying to recruit!!! i saw atleast 5 or 5 celi's yesterday after work. they were all gt's besides the one i saw in the lot.

tung, i've gone twice this year to LI. depending on which way you go, if you drive all the way down to the bronx and go around that way, it'll be over 200 miles one way, plus another maybe $8 in tolls and gas money. but if you take one of the ferry's in CT, then you'll be saving alot of miles, but not a lot of money. ($40 one way including the driver, plus another $10 each for additional passengers).

all in all, its your choice. time wise getting there, they are about the same. but cost and mileage wise, completely different! i prefer drivin all the way rather than the ferry. :D

took me 8 hours the first time i ever went to boston, using directions from maquest. and I drove the whole way, with two whining people in the backseat. the second time it took me 5 hours to get to boston. no ferry boat. :(

You can go there and back on about a tank and half of gas.

wow thats nuts. im not happy with my ride quality either. but its mostly cuz of my 35 series tires. before i put the 18's on, it wasnt bad with just TRD springs and stock shocks. In the spring i'm a put on my hotchkis springs and KYB AGX shocks, and the rest of my suspension mods that are just sitting here. New rims with 40 series tires are in the plans as well.

8 hours seems like a REALLY long time joe. was there alot of traffic? there is no way it should take that long at all. i can see maybe 5 hours as being reasonable. but thats a little much too i think. but im 45 mins away from boston and i made it to and from the LI meet last weekend on a whole tank of gas. round trip

hmmmmmm....... well the people limit on the boat itself is 500 passengers. but i'd say the boat can fit maybe close to 100 cars. if not more. im not 100% sure and the website doesnt say how many cars their boats can hold. but still, they make ALOT dough off of one trip!

wow i read that whole OT thread. that was great.

matt: it took me 8 hours that one time cuz i spent 3 of it crawling into the Boston metro area. i swear i couldve walked and got there at the same time. it all started before I hit the last toll to get into boston. we were going literally like 2 MPH the rest of the way. we apparently hit boston's rush hour.

oh yeah i was gonna say I couldve done the round trip in one gas tank, but i know that the gas readings arent accurate, to make it look like ure getting better mileage than you really are and to make sure that when it says you have no gas left, in reality you have enough to get you to a nearby gas station. like when u fully gas up, it takes about 50 miles before it loses one bar off the gas reading.
