PISSED About my hood...PLEASE READ, i need HELP!

Hey, ok here is the story...i sometimes notice that my hood kinda bounces around/flaps around at high speeds or when its windy, its the stock hood, like when i am traveling on the highway, i can see it bouncing/flapping up and down...well the other day i got out of my car and i was like wtf, there was a bump up on my hood, looked kinda like a bee bee gun shot but like from underneath my hood, and i opened up my hood and noticed the bump up was right above one of those bolts that you would attach a strut bar/anti-sway bar to. Those sets of three bolts. So i figured i went over a bump or it just kinda hit into it when i was driving on the thruway, from all the bouncing around...i dono, all i know is that there is a bump there, and it broke the paint, so now i just washed my car and the paint is chipping away in that area...damn!! What do i do, do you think Toyota will help me out since maybe these hoods aren't "attached" properly...i have a 2000 celica GT. Any ideas on what i can do, i think its just the top layer of red paint, i don't think the primer is broken, but i didn't wanna look anymore, i was discusted...thanks, and HELP PLEASE!!

Maybe someone sat or jumped on your hood while it was parked somewhere. I don't think the strut bolts are tall enough to dent the hood like that without the hood being forced down hard.

? for you.. do you have your underbay plastics on?? Ive noticed with the Celica if you dont have your underbay plastics that the underdraft will cause your hood to come up and down sometimes versus with the plastics the hood doesnt appear to move at all

Well, I am usually busy looking at other things while driving on the highway, like where all the cars are around me since no-one on 495/95, or the whole country for that matter, knows what lane discipline is. Anyway, I have never seen my hood flopping up and down, and if I did, I would pull over imediately to see WTF was up. That is not normal, there has to be something wrong. If your dealership isn't full of assholes, I would take your baby there to see what is wrong.

Sounds like a good excuse to get a Carbon Fiber hood to me :)

Mine does the same thing. I'm sure it always did, but now that I have the MBAuto scoop sticking up in front of me, I notice it A LOT on the highway.

No damage problems though.

thanks for all the thoughts, and yes larry, i do have all my engine bay plastics, so i dono, any other ideas anyone, and i will do searches as well, but does anyone know of or know someone that sells CF hoods cheap, thanks, Tim

My '00 GT dose it also. I wouldnt stress about it.

just check the bolts that hold it in place.. if there tight then I dunn what to tell you other then it happens to alot of Celicas it seems
