ive had my 01 gt auto for about 8 mos and i was thinking about trading it in for a gt or gts manual. but i already have rims, kit, system, intake, exhaust and a few lil things....so my question is should i still try to trade it or just keep the auto?

I traded in my auto gt for a manual gt.....it was a straight up trade. The celica I traded in, I had fro about a year, with 12k miles. I think you will end up losing a couple grand though, unless you are good friends with the dealer like I am :).
P.S.- If you do decide to trade in for a GT-S......can I buy your exhaust from you? :) Thanks.

I'd say get keep the car you got unless you really love the Celica. If it was me, I'd wait a bit and get something faster..........like a Evo VII or 350Z. The GTS may be a little bit faster, but you'd still get smoked by a Evo when it comes out, unless you go with some type of forced induction, which doesn't seem to be coming any time soon.
But it's your money...................

Go for it all the way! I just traded in my 2k celica gt auto for a new 2k2 celica gts manual, it was worth every minute haggling and every penny spent. There's a HUGE difference in how the car performs! Granted it took forever getting the price down to a reasonable range at the dealership, but still it was totally worth it. All I can say is haggle first then bring up the down payment to get the monthly down as low as possible. When trading in that soon, you have no equity in the car so they may try to say you owe X amount of dollars. If you're there long enough like I was (over 7hours) they'll make up the difference on the car you currently own. Save up for a good down payment. And enjoy the new ride! :)
