yeah i saw that on the nhra drags on tv. It pretty much got tore up by the veterans. It ran a 7-8 1/4 mile cuz of some mechanical problems other dragsters were running under 4 seconds.

The "price" of being the "quickest" Celica in the quarter mile just went up.

The car actually used TRD parts too, the telemetry system is from the CART Toyota engine

Noone has run quicker than 4 seconds yet. Gary Scelzi drives the car and qualified with a 4.934 at 306.4 MPH.

my mistake, all the cars were so fast all I saw were 4's in the 1/4 mile.

Yeah he had engine problems that day, thats why he ran such a ****ty time.

My original post really had nothing to do with the amount of cylinders. It was the perceived attitude that we would not know anything about NHRA racing, I assumed because of what we drive. Some of us have some experience in that regard. :chuckles:

your perception was wrong :)

but a celica, or any import 4 cylinder car platform, up until this point, has not been used at this level drag racing...which are the quickest in the world..hence..the welcoem to the big leagues comment.

SlasherX: Why do you even post in these forums. The only posts I ever see by you are ignorant and anti celica. You think because your mustang is a v-6 and has more cylinders it is better. How pathetic. I would rather have a supra or rx-7 than any v-8. Just because a car has more cyclinder doesn't make it better. You need to go to a mustang forum, where most people think that.
