Hrm... so does a short shifter make a nice difference? Put myself in for that group buy...
2kgtx
02-17-2002, 04:47 PM
Yeah they are really cool, With a SS you can shift a lot quicker can't tell you how many cars I have raced (ok only 1 time did this happen) That beat me cause they could shift quicker,
Every one I just woke up, I was awake for 30 hours straight, that sucked I was so tired I drove home this morning with my windows down to keep from going to sleep, Ok I think I am going back to bed now

yea, short shifters are real nice, i highly reccomend getting one. wow, that must have sucked being up that long mark, don't think i'd wanna try it. yall missed out on a lot of fun today at the autocross, hope you can make it out to the next one. i managed to get 1st in the novice class so i was really happy with that. everyone else did good too and i think we all had a lot of fun(other than me, barry, and duncan nearly getting killed by an m coupe sliding sideways right at us while we were working one of the corner areas).

Hey Cody.
What brand of headlights (lowbeams) are you running and also what parking lights? They look perfect and I want to change mine. How's the longevity? I've tried several brands including Razo and they went out within a month so I got tired of wasting my money on them. So, if your happy with yours, let me know cause I want em. Thanks, Jamie

the low and high beams are hiper industries and all the rest are PIAA's. i think i got them all around september or so and they're still doing good. by the way, the wing looks good, glad you were able to get it on so quick.

Yeah, the Auto cross was fun today. I am becoming less and less happy with the stock suspension. I'm not sure if it was just the surface or what, but it felt like my tires sucked really bad today too. I don't even want to know how much money all the mods I have planned is going to cost. It looks like I've got less than a month to get ready to get revenge for the GTs. jk. Congrats by the way Cody. I wish we would have been spaced out so I could have watched you run. The video looked crazy. Next time maybe Mark and I will be able to make it a little more dificult for you.

thanks duncan, i was real happy with how everything went. once you get that suspension stuff you're gonna be some tough competetion since you were only about a second behind today. and yea, i think that surface was extra bad, i felt my car slipping too much in certain aras too. i saw that one person on the solo 2 mailing list had already written saying that it was fun but it was some of the worst pavement he had ever raced on. so i guess it wasn't just us. hopefully turner field will be better though, i'm sure looking foward to running out there next month.

Mark, I will either go see him tomorrow or call him and see how he wants to handle it. I don't think he ever heard back from his friend at TRD about the specs, but it sounds like from what I've found on the Forum that they are the ones West Covina has that are $619 or whatever it is. I'll try to keap my phone on me, but if not I can call you back at 12:00 or after 5:00 or something when I get off of work. Do you still want him to install them for you? If so I'll mention that to him and i guess maybe you two should talk to set up the details of that. He said we could go by his house one day and check out his shop and his certificates and stuff from Toyota. I think it will take a week at least for them to get here. They will have to be ordered and shipped from TRD in california. I'll talk to you tomorrow.
Barry, what do you want me to tell him for you? If you are not ready to get them now, since the shipping isn't an issue, it shouldn't be any problem for him to order yours in another week or two or whenever. If you want to go ahead and get them at the same time as Mark and I, I can see if he would be ok with us just paying him when they get here. Let me know so I can tell him. If you want to post tonight or call me tomorrow I guess we may go ahead and order them tomorrow or tuesday. my # is 770-540-7495 if you didn't already have it. Later

Dan it seems as if you have a rep in the Auto Cross on Saturday one of the instructers said something to me about you, he said that you were a pretty good driver, just thought that was interesting,

Thanks for the info on your lights Cody. Like I said, I tried a couple different brands and they didn't last long so I just put the stock ones back in. Seeing your's got me in the mood to get some more. Hey Dan, what's up?

Dan, we all ran in novice class. I'm not really sure which one I should be in. I didn't see how good the 240 and 2.5 did. I think Cody grabbed a copy of the time sheets so he might have the times.
skatamatic
02-18-2002, 03:55 PM
i only ended up getting the sheet with our class (novice), super stock (camaro and vette), a-stock (vettes and m coupes), b-stock (m3's and a 944), e-stock (celi GT), and f-stock (camaros and the old station wagon..haha). if anyone wants to know any particular times let me know and i can post them. i think scca also said they'll have the times on their page so i'll check that soon too.

i think those are TRD M wheels... VERY expensive.
Mark, which instructor was it? I ran all last year and did pretty well, so I guess I can say I'm a good driver. Definitely room for improvement though. Thats the one thing you'll learn autocrossing. You aren't as good as you think you are.. :)

They look kinda like Dronell wheels.
I wish I had filmed you guys from outside the car instead. Next time we will space you out too. I'm sure it looked a lot more intense on the outside than from the inside. It was fun getting tossed around though!! I know suspension will make a huge difference in your runs. You might have to get used to it though. I am having a bad day today. I lost my job. The store I work at is doing badly and they can't afford me any more. You guys cook up something fun for this weekend to cheer me up. I am job hunting.....I hate this..... :wtc:

Hey Roxanne...
It seems i will be ordering some 17in Passion 5's for my black GT. Now i wanted to be original and have wheels that most don't but now i have been told you have them. I would liek to kindly ask you to take them off so i can be the only member of Phase Seven with them.....HEHEHE me just kidding. But for real i hope you don't mind that we will ahev the same wheels, i saw them and then..i believe it was Cody, told me that you also had them, so hopefully you won't slash my brand new tires ;)

Honestly are you gonna be upset when i also have them? i really don't wnat to make anyone mad. I truely ahd no idea that you were getting them found out yesterday i think. I am steering away from the Tantrums and CDR9's because i see them on too many civics and integras and just wanted to be allitte different. Hope you understand

Sorry to hear about your Job Roxanne. I have seriously thought about quiting mine a few times in the last few weeks. They are bringing me things to fix faster than I can fix them and on top of that I have about ten million other things they have me running around doing. I think you and J5 should race and whoever loses has to get different wheels. Have any other ideas yet John? That is funny Barry! There have been so many things I would have like to have said to my boss this month. Unfortunately all of them would have gotten me fired for sure.

let me join the "i want to quit my job too" club. i've been getting horribly underpaid for the last 2 years(an amazing $6.25/hr for doing way too much work) and i think i've about had enough. duncan, quit yours, and we can all become bums or something. haha...i do need a new job though, my list of crap i want for the car is getting too expensive and i'm not making any progress with it.

Yeah, thats the problem. If I quit my job It will be hard to pay for my car much less mods for it. We can get Turbos and then street race for money. We may have to get two of the big bottles too just to make sure we win. By the way Cody, I don't know if you saw in the other thread but Nick got the prices on the LSD and Clutch today. I never actually talked to him he just left me a message. I will see him first thing in the morning though and I'll let you know tomorrow night.

Ok I want to join in I have been working this great side job for 5 years now I started landscaping for this guy at 7 dollars an hour then 2 years ago he had me start working in his electrical shop for 9 dollars an hour by the way this is all under the table, Now I am the main employee kinda like a manager when someone else is working but its normally just me I am making 12 dollars an hour love my job, but last the past month or so he has been talking about closing down and I only have 7 panels left to build and no more work in sight, last thrusday he was talking about were he is going to put some of the stuff like the fork lift when we close up, It sounds like we really are closing up, this sucks, I will probably know more about it next week, Just wanted to share my Job wows

I just realized that I will probably not make it to the Autocross on the 10th. If my schedule is right we are supposed to leave that day to drive to Sebring again. That week is going to suck really bad too. We are changing all kinds of stuff during the week and then the race is a 12 hour race whick will be rough. You guys will have to watch it on TV when you get back from the Autocross. I'm not sure which station it will be on yet, but I'll let you know. Maybe that will give me time to get some more stuff for my car before the next Autocross.
