Need help from anyone who's installed one of these. For some reason I can't get the HU to turn on.

I've connected the ground to the ground on the wiring harness I spliced into. The Yellow battery wire to the constant +12 on the harness. The Red ACC wire to the ACC on the harness. And the ILL wire to the ILL on the harness, all as specified in the Celica service manual. I have the parking brake line spliced to the brake wire.

I turn the key to ACC or even ON and the HU won't illuminate or power on when i hit the power button. If I detach the face, the security light blinks, so I know there is power going to it.

Am I missing something? Or doing something wrong?

I would double check and make sure you spliced the ACC wire from the head unit to the correct one on the harness.

Ok I talked to another guy briefly about it and yea I found out you have to have the master unit connected also since the power is coming from the master unit.

I did all that and it still doesn't power up. Where does the lcd get it's power from? Is it the IP-BUS cable? I do have that plugged in also but no luck.

I'm starting to run out of ideas, another thing is I have everything grounded to the stock harness, should it be grounded to the car frame instead?

And since you mention the RGB cables, does the AVM video cable have to be connected to the master unit also for it to power up?

This is the same install as a P7000CD also, so if you've installed one and can give me a tip it would help too.

Thanks in advance

did you buy a wire harness or did you cut up the factory one?

if you didn't then you cut up the factory one you voided your warentee. i would suggest taking the car to toyota and tell them that someone stole the radio out of your car.

the harness is only like 10 bucks

They do not make a harness for the GTS, they make one for the GT.

The GTS has a stock amp which you have to bypass also, the GT does not.

No I did not hack up the stock harness, but I plan to poke solid wire into the harness instead or cutting it. Thou to bypass the stock amp you have to cut...sucks.

That's a good idea though saying it was stolen...

Actually... I have a GT and have the factory amp. I didnt realize it at first, but after realizing that the speakers sounded underpowered, I looked around, and found an amp under the glove box. (I'd hope peopel stop saying that GT's dont have amps, because thats what threw me off in the first place... some GT's do have amps). I had to bypass it when I installed my Kenwood KVT. I dont know about the pioneers, but my kenwood had the same problem. Then, I hit the reset button on the front of the HU, and it powered up just fine. There should be one on your unit, so if you have it, try resetting it. Otherwise, the unit itself might be damaged. Try resetting it first, and if that doesnt work, go to where you bought it, and have them check out the wiring. If its all correct, then the unit is defective.
